#1 daddicus Aug 02, 2010 15:43:09	Apologies if this is the wrong place for this post. I've been noticing that some of my players are warming up to the flavor text on their printed copies of powers. I'm going to encourage this all I can, but something jumped out of it right away that hurt its chances for the long term: There's only one flavor text per power. Now, yes, you can type your own in, but that's work, and essentially impossible for some non-creative people (about half of my group). So, I'm wondering if Wizards couldn't add extra flavor texts for some (later all) powers in Character Builder, and then randomly choose which ones to show on the power cards (for players who want to use them). If this were implemented, Wizards could even elicit help from DDI subscribers. Just create a web page that has all of the powers and a slot in which to write decent flavor text. Obviously, this would require a moderated process of adding to Character Builder, but so would the main part of the idea anyhow. As an alternative, an app could be created that would tweak Character Builder builds by changing the flavor text. I'm not sure how this would work, but I'm betting you guys can figure it out.
#2 daddicus Aug 10, 2010 15:57:37	I had another idea that's related: Have a way to turn on flavor texts for powers for more than one character at a time. Right now, to turn on flavor texts, you have to open the character, get to the character sheet, and turn them on. Then you have to save the character. Finally, you have to repeat all of those steps for each created character. Yuck. It would be nice if I could highlight 10 characters and check a box to turn on flavor text for all 10 at once, and have them all autosave (or, have a button to save and another check box to ignore warnings when saving). I can think of several other places in the character sheets where this might be useful, but flavor texts are the most obvious.
#3 faelan Nov 02, 2010 19:49:51	Actually, that's not a bad idea for a fan-run site sort of deal.  Collect fan-created flavor text for the various powers, which can be searched by power, class, power source, etc. so players who don't have that knack can find one they like and paste it in as custom text.  If I weren't so busy between work and classes I'd probably start working on that myself, but in the mean time I hope someone else likes the idea and can start running with it.
