(Or have I been hiding under a rock?) My dream is a faithfully-implemented turn-based game using 4e rules, with a 3D interface similar to NWN that snaps a translucent 5' grid down on the map when combat starts. |

I'm sure that before 4e is completed there will be at least one video game based on it's mechanics, as you say they seem perfect for that. Until then however I suggest checking out Dragon Age (when it comes out). Oddly enough the mechanics I've seen so far are highly reminiscent of 4e, including melee classes have powers (they are called Talents in Dragon Age) and the way magic works. I don't if this is true but I heard that Bioware abandoned D&D largely because they were unsatisfied with the way the game mechanics translated into the video format. Then they go ahead and make a game that ends up with mechancis that are remarkably similar to the current D&D edition. Ironic, no? |
