Anyone else getting antsy?

I know it's only been a week since the CB update, but I'm wondering if PaoloM is ever going to get permission to open up communication with us "insiders".  I would really like to hear a little more about these web based tools, and whether they are replacing, complimenting, or enhancing existing ones.

I'm also realizing that it was about this time last year that we started getting preview classes from PHB3.  I'd really like it if they would start this back up again for upcoming products, whether it be classes, races, builds or even some preview feats or paragon paths from products coming out months from now.  That, along with the Monster Builder, were the justifications given for raising prices last year.

Along with that, I'd like to get more than 1 or 2 adventures a month from Dungeon, especially some more paragon and epic level support.

Wow, I just realized how off topic I've gotten on my own post.  Tongue out  \

Anyway, I felt the need to vent a bit and I guess that's one of the purposes of the forums, right?

I'm not holding my breath.

he needs permission from a person who needs permission from someone else who needs to get premission from another person but only if that person fills out a form in triplicate and submits the request for a 90 day holding review incase theres someone who wants to change their mind.

So if we do get an update this week, it'll be another "I'll get information to you soon"

Antsy?  Nay, for these forums are not unlike a placid pool upon whose unrippled surface no zephyr glides.

Actually, I'm trending toward, "don't care anymore, they had their chance." Obviously, I still care enough to point out that I don't care, but eventually, that's going to go away too. Wink

Yeah, I think I've moved well past antsy.  At this point, I don't even care any more.  If they get their act together I'll be hapily surprised.  If they don't, then I'll use the info I already have to play.  The lack of new material won't matter to me when I'm no longer paying.

This is where I started and I haven't had to risk heart attacks in the meantime. Liberating, isn't it?

Moved on to "I don't care anymore" myself.

They don't give a carp, why should I?

For me they've got until the end of the week to give us some solid information.

on some or all of the following:

When we can expect dark sun and essentials in the builder.
When the monster builder will be fixed. (or if it can't why not and what they are going to do about it.)
Why we've had to wait (I expect this to be to some extent what the web tools are and why they are worth all the disruption to normal services, but I'd be perfectly happy to accept some other awesome news).

Why they havn't been able to say any thing, and some sort of future picture of improvements how info might be rolled out (note this is what Paulo told us he'd have last week, and then this week. He's also gone notably quiet this week).

The last one may help their cause more than the others, if it's done right. I'm pinning my hopes on that.

I was originally going to carry this out last week, but Paulo's effort and candidness bought them another week. It's such a shame he had to go "unofficial" to do this. The only thing that has given me hope is the unoffical tidbits that have snuck through. The official statments have given me no hope.

If by the end of the week we either have no information, or only another statment saying we'll have another statment "soon", I'll be seeking a refund for the rest of my year subscription.

I understand services like these have problems, particularly if you are trying to get something new done on top of what you are doing. But crippling your service levels, while offering no real explanation of why or how these will be worth while in the long run is unaccepatable, and foolish.

I can cope with the delays, if you give me a reason to stick with you. So far all we've had along these lines is nothing official and a few unofficial "I really shouldn't be telling you this but we're working on something, that will make it worthwhile, I'll really try my hardest to feed you some info "soon"". My trust with the unofficial statments has worn so thin it's about to snap, and the complete lack of any official statment just indicates to me that there is nothing worth this drop in service coming.

TL;DR
Say something by the end of the week or I'm gone.
If that's antsy, then yes i am. ;)

BoroGamer,

While you are correct that PaoloM has not posted in about a week, this is not out of the ordinary by any means.  He often goes a week or more between posts.  I would be more worried had I not seen him in the "online" list at the bottom of the forums page more than once since then.  He is obviously keeping abreast of the developments here, while probably keenly aware that his next utterance better be something of substance lest the natives string him up and flay the skin from his carcass.

You are probably right, it was a little bit of a flipant comment. I'm sure (and have said through all my nerdangst,) that Paulo is a good guy who is doing his best. It was more a bit of a he's not come on and said "still working on this", which would be nice, but not required, and appreciate he might not be in a position or think it will help the case for info, if he does keep talking.
I don't check the "online" section, so wouldn't know, but do find it (a little) comforting to know he's still at least reading if not posting, so thinks for that.

Still the main point stands.

Something by the end of the week, either concrete decent info, or at the very least (and perhaps more likely) something along the lines of Paulo's better communication method, or I'm off.

Agreed. I am also reaching the point where my next e-mail to Customer Service will be for a full refund of my remaining subscription. In any event, if we can no longer rely on electronic updates for books purchased then I am likely to stop my own part of the WotC print book income stream.

I have never (in around 30 years) stopped buying new D&D books as they come out (or in the past as I could afford them) but I am reaching that point now. I am fed up of being treated like a mug who will continually fork over hard earned cash on the promise of something better to come "soon" and current bugs corrected eventually.

I'm afraid "antsy" doesn't really come close.

I used to be really passionate about the potential but have been let down too much to get ansy anymore. I've played D&D for over 20 years so I do still enjoy the game itself.

I enjoy the game of D&D, but WotC is really making it hard to continue to play the game. I was antsy when they first announced DDi...

...Now I'm of the mind of no expectations and I don't pay for it either. If something good happens I might fork over a months subscription to see if its worth it, but no skin off my back if WotC keeps screwing itself...
