Anyone know a way to speed up CB on a netbook?

I currently have a 1101-HAB netbook, 1.33 ghz processor, 1 gig ram (www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+Eee+PC+Netbo...). Character Builder runs really slow on the system and i was wondering if anyone knew how i might speed it up. Would upgrading to 2 gig ram help a bunch, perhaps going to windows 7 from xp, or is there nothing i can do.

I have a Windows 7 HP dv7 laptop 4G ram, 1024 dedicated video memory, 2.4G AMD and it runs slow.  The rest of the world flies past, the compendium is like glue.

Found the solution, and it is very strange, but works.

Apparently the character builder doesnt like hardware accelleration for some reason
