It really might be just me, but nearly everything that has been released in Dragon this month has had a "Hahaha! We're releasing this article, but you actually can't use it yet, if ever!" vibe.

Everything has been a playtest (one that we actually can't use in any official games, really), a bit of arcane fun that we have to wait for Arcane Power to get the full rules for, or an article that holds no impact for our games at all (ala Ampersand).

I will say that the Arcane School article seems to, for the most part, break this trend, but even that has a power for the Artificer (not that I mind, but I'm building a theme here).

I must say that I'm frustrated when I see articles that seem like they should be released after a certain sourcebook, come before as another annoying teaser, rather than usable content. Why not release these the following month and give us material we can use right now. I mean, I want the familiar article and even the character concepts article, yes, but I want them when I have the rules to use them in my game, not before.

Of course, as the name of this thread indicates, this may simply be a joke ... I just don't particularly like jokes that last an entire month.

Yours,

Well, you could just wait until the issue is compiled. Thats when everything becomes official anyway. Every dragon article is technically the same, nothing is RPGA legal until the end of the month, when the issue is compiled.
