| #2thespaceinvaderApr 07, 2011 7:27:45 | It bothers me that the Feats erraticle is paywalled. I do hoe the inevitable errata that it contains are made freely available at the end of the month. Dragon looks pretty reasonable to me, actually, particularly the Ki Focus Bazaar - as long as it finally includes some Common foci (either that, or HoS should, but one way or another, I hope this month ends that particular annoying problem). EDIT: it also bugs me that we're already a week into April, and the ToC has only just gone up. Way to show how much things have improved guys. Adequate job(!) |

Quoted from :http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Article.aspx?x=dnd/dra/201103warlord "This series also provides feats for these classes, all in a free, downloadable format." Last I checked, free means free. So unless they lied, the feats aren't supposed to be behind the paywall. However, I am suspicious about the description given in the dragon magazine preview. "Beyond the abilities that a character has from his or her class and basic nature, every adventurer has distinctive talents, or feats, that further set him or her apart from the common folk. Here's the revamped selection of core feats in a special installment ofClass Compendium." Revamped means that the material already exists and they are updating old feats. However, in the link I provided, it mentions the following: "Feats Included in the Class Compendium series (in April) is an installment on feats to round out your character. For the most part, the feats included in Class Compendium are intended to provide characters built using the Essentials rulebooks with more options for using the Player’s Handbook material, as well as providing characters built using Class Compendium with ways to gain some of the class features presented in Heroes of the Fallen Lands. For a better selection of adventuring feats, you should refer to Heroes of the Fallen Lands, Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, and the Player’s Handbook." |

(Personally I love rituals and would like to see them get more love). Of course, it may be the final nail in the ritual coffin. As cool as rituals are and can be, they seem to have abandoned the concept lately. |

Rituals in particular have the issue of using monetary resources, that otherwise would go to magic items, which makes players hesitant to use them. |

Rituals in particular have the issue of using monetary resources, that otherwise would go to magic items, which makes players hesitant to use them. In my experience, a lack of ritual use is usually the DM's fault. If a DM or party wants to use rituals, their use has to be seen as valuable to the game or story. There has to be a real benefit to the party, which means the DM has to allow rituals to move the story forward, keep the players alive, or give them shortcuts that avoid costly situations. If the DM doesn't make rituals important, players will ignore them. Many DM's I know dislike rituals because they see them as too derailing to their intricate story lines. I love them and wholeheartedly take on the "Learn to say yes" model. Some of the best moments I've had in 4e have come from ritual use. I'm curious to see how WotC is planning on upgrading them. |
| #9excalainenApr 13, 2011 16:44:00 | I'm miffed again that although the month is now almost half over, there has been only one(!) Dragon article published of the twelve promised. Even Amper$and is missing, although they usually want to rush that ad out early. |
| #10frothsofApr 15, 2011 5:50:00 | yeah the month has been truly putrid so far, i guess i dont even need to pay attention til week three of a month, and that really sucks |
