| #1defender_xSep 24, 2011 1:38:33 | Has anyone experienced an issue with AC not being correct. For example, wearing plate, but ignoring the AC value of the armor? |
| #2nshoeSep 24, 2011 2:35:33 | Probably a mastercraft armor - all mastercraft armor seems to have lost their AC bonus (great testing huh) Who knows when they will bother to fix it. |
| #3IstaranSep 24, 2011 4:13:16 | My +4 Wyrmscale armor is currently adding only a grand total of +5 to my AC in the builder, out of the 15 it is supposed to be worth. Ouch! (15 includes a +1 from PP while wearing any heavy armor) Since you mentioned MW armor, I went back and checked. If I put generic +4 scale instead, it calculates correctly (including the full bonus for the new scaling, so full +15). |
| #4tpkurillaSep 25, 2011 14:33:54 | Heh, at least y'all seem to get *some* positive adjustment. My Slayer with +3 Wyvernscale actually lost 2 AC by wearing the armor, rather than gaining 12! |
| #5OneLuckyThiefSep 25, 2011 22:28:46 | I have the same issue with my Feytouched Stalkerhide armor +5 but when I remove it then equip just the standard Feytouched hide it works. looks like they got switched. |
| #6tiamatdragonwingSep 25, 2011 23:35:27 | same issue with my snakeskin armour, hope the bug is fixed soon, that or it is some unannounced errata |
| #7morvaiSep 27, 2011 0:14:04 | Same issue with a set of Drakescale armor. It's only applying +2. labs.latest.iplay4e.appspot.com/view?xsl... |
| #8RedSiegfriedSep 27, 2011 19:50:40 | I submitted a bug report on this the other day and today got back a response about how AC is calculated post-Essentials using the new tables and how masterwork armor is magic armor and magic armor is masterwork armor. It was almost like the agent didn't really read what I wrote since I gave a couple of specific examples stating that the armor bonus for masterwork armor types was not being added to AC; only the enhancement bonus was, and for non-masterwork types the AC is calculated correctly. So I restated my case using some more specific examples and hopefully the agent understands what I'm saying now. I hope the agent was not implying that they were doing away with masterwork armor types since: 1. It's a bad idea to remove stuff from the game even if you don't like it. 2. If they did want to remove it from the game there was no indication that they were going to do that and it's still in the CB causing confusion. That being said, no, I don't think the agent was trying to say it was removed from the game, I just don't think he understood the situation. Hopefully he does now. I would find it hard to believe that the development crew is not aware of this problem after a week. It's fairly major, IMO, because it affects a lot of users. |
| #9lexicographerSep 28, 2011 5:01:42 | Yeah. I've been having the same issue. It seems that it isn't only the masterwork armors, but any armor from nonstandard materials (ie githweave) as well. The answer I got was a link to the blank character sheets. It would be nice to hear from someone from Wizards at least acknowledge there's a problem. |
| #10RedSiegfriedSep 28, 2011 11:24:22 | Yeah. I've been having the same issue. It seems that it isn't only the masterwork armors, but any armor from nonstandard materials (ie githweave) as well. The answer I got was a link to the blank character sheets. Nonstandard materials armor like githweave is what I mean when I say masterwork armor. Maybe that's part of the confusion I had with the agent I spoke to. The thing is, all armor uses the same armor bonus table now, regular or nonstandard materials but there are the exceptions like Tarrasque plate which give you a lesser armor bonus in exchange for DR, or other types that give you a bonus to a NAD in exchange for a lower armor bonus than normal. Regardless, what I've found is that Cloth, Hide, Leather, Chain, Scale and Plate work normally, but all the other material types (godplate, githweave, etc.) do not give you ANY armor bonus. Hopefully my response to the agent was detailed enough with good examples that he gets the point now. |
| #11tibisSep 28, 2011 17:48:16 | Well, at least my DM won't be complaining that he can hardly hit my Paladin :P (It's his fault for letting us have +3 plate though!) |
| #12portnoydSep 28, 2011 18:30:40 | Thanks for identifying this issue and trying to bring it up to the powers that be. Was going INSANE trying to figure out what I broke when I lost 9 points of AC simply by logging into the builder tonight. -.- |
| #13morvaiSep 29, 2011 0:24:07 | Well, at least my DM won't be complaining that he can hardly hit my Paladin :P (It's his fault for letting us have +3 plate though!) hey, hey HEY. some of us have to make up for our crappy rolls with the ability to sponge away lots of attacks. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ox_dawRzfws&feat... |
| #14ErrethSep 29, 2011 13:05:35 | Just one more user with AC calculation problems when using magic masterwork armor. I'm actually losing 1AC point when equiping +2 Finemesh chain mail on my character. Please fix this Wizards! My Lair Assault is coming up shortly and I need every benefit I can get... |
| #15LeugrenOct 01, 2011 9:29:36 | Yeah, this is a stupid, nasty, and pervasive problem. I hope we get a fix quickly. |
