May 31, 2011 0:45:12 This has been a big issue of mine for a while now. Character art in the Online Character Builder frankly is quite poor. Some races (like the "big four", as well as Warforged) have tons and tons of art to choose from. Others, like Shadar-kai or Shardmind, have only a single portrait to choose, even though there's a lot of character art out there they could be using. Frankly, this is unacceptable.

Another issue here is misfiled artwork. There's the portrait of Albanon the Eladrin Mage, for example, that came from Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms (and he's featured in the novels too). But for SOME REASON, it's in the Elf list, rather than the Eladrin list. Isn't it obvious that (A) he has solid colour orb eyes like any Eladrin and (B) you named him as such in the book he came from? Why is this an issue? Elves have plenty of portrait art to choose from – far more than Eladrin, for that matter! Why do they need to be stealing Eladrin art?

Jun 03, 2011 3:17:47 a while back I went through the wizards site, and downloaded each and every picture I could, pulling from dungeon, dragon, and the art from every book they have put out....
It took a while...

Then with the help of iphoto face recognition I tagged every picture so I could type elf, and every elf would come up, or type in dragon and see all the dragon pictures. If I type in elf, dragon I get 6 pictures with elves, usually fighing dragons... you get the idea....

If I can do this, why can't wizards?

Jun 03, 2011 7:02:23 I should do that too, Houndstooth. It always takes me too long to go through all the different folders of art to find just the right picture I want for my characters.

That's really pretty sweet. I can never get iphoto face recognition to work very well personally so I've been trying to tag this stuff manually. It's taking an incredibly long time.
