Hey everyone, just came back to ddi after about a year off and just read the sticky about dragon article frequency.  Is this looking to be a permanent thing?  Or is the lack of dragon articles just how its going to be from now on and I'm really just looking at paying a monthly subscription for the character builder, compendium and a bunch of posts about stuff that really doesn't have any impact on my game.  This isn't meant to be a flame, I'm just curious about the current state of ddi these last few months and if I'm missing anything.

Dragon and Dungeon are a bit up in the air at the moment, their have been conflicting reports from WotC_Trevor, seems they are just aiming to get all the content out within the month, but not on any particular schedule. March was the first month they managed that since I think November last year. This is because there has been a change in how the articles are produced and checked. Everything now goes through R&D as if it were a book publication. Trevor also stated they intended to get back to daily article releases, but I don't know if that is still the case and even if it is how long before that will happen. We've not seen ANY content yet this month (except the April Fools stuff), but I suppose as long as it is all out by the 30th they will have hit their current internal target.

It's a big step down from how the magazines were about 6 months ago, when we got daily article releases and about twice the content we get now.

It almost feels as if WOTC is kind of done with 4th edition d&d to me.

Yeah sad that we are 11 days into the month and we not had a single DDI only article.  Good new though!  We are getting a Heroes of Shadow art gallery tomorrow!  That's totally worth a subscription!

Agree with this. Plus, Amazon (UK) just e-mailed me to say the Shadowfell boxed set has been pulled. They've been wrong before but given everything else it doesn't bode well.

Nothing of the sort from Amazon (US) yet.

The only thing I can think of is that they switched it up to essentials style in a last ditch effort to get old school d&d players to try and take notice and are trying to get as much money as possible in the little time they have left.  I mean seriously, if this game was fully supported like it was in the beginning we'd at least  be getting articles weekly.  There has got to be something more going on than the whole we are changing how the articles are checked.  Cmon, give us something.  The player community is pretty good at letting wotc know what is and isn't balanced before they commit it to the compendium and cb.

You know, I wouldn't mind if they put the magazines out just in one lump at the end of the month, if only they caught up on the magazines in the character builder. Having to wait an extra month to have that stuff in the builder sucks.

I'm generally not big on jumping into the forums, but my concerns on this topic have brought me here. I enjoy 4th, but honostly I'm worred about this set of changes to subscriber content. I think its probubly smart to integrate the system as a whole, and I understand good editing takes time but this lack of content is disheartening.

At first I thought I was just missing something, as the calender kept getting thinner and thinner, so I'm some what relieved to see other talking about it. I can accept that giving specific dates is impossible but could we atleast get a list of what we are gonna see this month?  (Did they already do this and I missed it?) It is hard to fend off the rabid Pathfinder fans who share my gaming table.

The list of what is supposed to be coming out this month would be in the tables of contents for Dragon and Dungeon magazines.  That article on feats looks to be the item of major interest for me this month.
