| #1RekkamanAug 28, 2009 13:00:19 | I was looking over the Editorial Calendar, Which I have for the past week for this, and it seems like for the CB update on september it might have the Assassin class in it. Anyone know for certain ? in the calander cause of the way the month has fallen date wise there is no info on it.
But looking it over the offical article for heroic assassin is the 11th then paragon the 14th and epic the 21st. It wouldnt be the first time CB has gotten the update before the article ie. the Psion.
I am wondering if this is the case for this class.
any thoughts or opnions on the matter ? |

that would be lame, Plus they are doing the same thing with psion where he articles wont have all the crunch so they can stop pirates. |

Well, they did say they listened to feedback and thats why we got the githzerai article with all the mechanics. Hopefully, they will continue this trend and give us a complete Assassin article. |
| #5mrmythAug 28, 2009 13:51:34 | What I'm hoping is that the three articles will mean we won't be getting just the base Assassin class itself, but full support for it - feats through the tiers, four or five paragon paths, and an epic destiny or two. Thus, not just introducing it, but providing the same material we would see for a newly introduced class anywhere else. Maybe even assassin specific items and equipment as well. The three article format would seem to support that, and I am hopeful (as the month would be a bit sparse if the assassin treatment is sparse.) Also, keep in mind - this isn't PHB3 preview material. The assassin is primary content for DDI, so even aside from them addressing concerns over the Psion presentation, there isn't any reason to fear they would take a similar approach with this content. |
| #6mrmythAug 28, 2009 13:54:00 | That said, I'm not expecting to see the Assassin in the Character Builder in September - remember, again, it isn't a preview, but standard DDI content. Like the Revenant, we'll get our look at it in September as articles and in the Dragon Compilation. I'm hopeful that, like the Revenant, it will be tagged as important enough content to get worked into the October Character Builder update - but if not, we won't see it until the November update when the rest of the September Dragon content gets added in. |

ok thank you, ill just use the CB homebrew system to make my level 1 assassin or just use pen and paper old fashion stlye on the 11th when the heroic is released. |

Well, as the two WotC guys said, there will definitely be feats, PPs, and an ED or two. But I'm only expecting 3 PPs. other than the Warlock, every PH class gets 4 PPs in the book. But the non-PH classes, the Swordmage and Artificer, have only gotten 3 in their PGs. I expect the Assassin to be treated like them instead of a PHB class. I definitely expect one ED, but no more than two.
Edit: NM, the Swordmage got 4 in the FRPG. The Artificer is the only one with 3 (I don't count the Alchemy one). So maybe the Assassin will have 4 after all. |

I doubt it. I dont think we will see any further Hybrid rules until PHB3 releases. Them upating the playtest again not withstanding (but I wouldnt hold my breath for that either)

The Fighter is not in the PHB3, yet its Hybrid rules will be. The Assasin not being in PHB3 has no bearing on whether or not its Hybrid rules will be. |

The developers have said that no mechanics for the Assassin will appear in a non-DDi source. My bet is that the earliest we will see Assassin Hybrid rules will be in an article the same month the PHB3 is released. I sort of expect the already announced 3rd build will appear around the same time. |
