Assassin Class?

Jul 28, 2009 17:33:29 I keep seeing things about an Assassin class in some of their articles lately, but I can't seem to find anything about an actual class called Assassin. Like, in "Exclusively Yours", they mention releasing more info pertaining to the class. Or in the "Playing Revenants" article, they say that Revenants excel in the Rogue and Assassin classes.

I have found the "The Art of the Kill" article, but i didn't think that was an actual class more than multiclass feats.

Anyone have any more information?

Jul 28, 2009 17:39:20 It's a new player class that will be released in Dragon. As far as I remember, they've never said specifically WHEN it will be released. It's one half of the "all new race, all new class" being provided to D&D Insiders (with the revenant).

It's a new player class that will be released in Dragon. As far as I remember, they've never said specifically WHEN it will be released. It's one half of the "all new race, all new class" being provided to D&D Insiders (with the revenant).

I could have sworn they said that the Assassin was coming in either August or September.....although I can't seem to find the source atm moment so I might have imagined that.

Edit: Found it. I don't know if it was announced else where, but it is mentioned in that Ampersand that it will be out in September.
Since we know there won't be new assassin powers appearing in a power source supplement or Player's Handbook, we're already planning to support September's two complete builds with more support just a few months after.

If im paying for the builders full use, and the exclusive content of the mag's
you would think they would apply the content to the builder
any one hear anyhting on this

Well, the Revenant was in Dragon 376, so it will be added with the update on Tuesday. If the Assassin comes in September, then it will be part of the Character Builder in the November update.

Huh? No, two complete builds are like the equivalent of the TWF and Archer ranger. The Assassin will debut with two complete builds, like that. Then early next year will get a third, the way the Beast Master Ranger is a third complete build.

Finally (and I know I seem to be nothing but questions), he mentioned that the Shadow Power source was being announced. From what I've seen of the supposed cover of Player's Handbook 3, the book only supports Primal, Divine, and Psionic power sources. Would Shadow be a insider-exclusive if that pic is real, or would it get its own book somewhere down the road?

Aug 02, 2009 20:57:29 Shadow will presumably be the focus of PHB4, like Psionic for 3 and Primal for 2. Just think of the Assassin like the Swordmage or Artificer - a non-PHB core class.
