To be more specific, I mean 'its almost ready for an open beta test'. To avoid the sort of backlash you're getting, all you had had to do was to announce today the release of the open beta and not a product release.  It would have given you so much more credibility.

Of course then we'd have people yelling "why are we paying to beta-test your product!?" ... Oh wait...

What's scary is that when I was on the phone with a guy in Customer Support earlier today, he indicated that they had done a "beta test" and that there had been pretty fast correction of errors.  I'm wondering what errors they did catch...

Just makes you shudder don't it? In fairness, my memory tells me that waaay back Paolo said something along this lines of 'Hey, I know when this thing is gonna ship to the hour'.  At that time I presume it was related to the Essentials release.  Following that two month (about that isn't it?) slide on the deadline, I can imagine the powers above Paolo having been stomping pretty hard to 'get something - anything - out the door!'. Still doesn't make the stupid bugs any more excusable though.
#5 dbmeboy Nov 16, 2010 16:06:58	Not really excusable at all in some cases.  Bugs I expected, but stuff like the xp for level should never have been a problem in the first place and certainly should have been fixed by launch.  It can't be very hard to make that change, and it was pointed out in the forums a while ago from Trevor's character sheet.

At this point, I don't think it matters what they do, people are going to raise six kinds of hell about it, throw a fit, throw feces, and throw Paolo under the bus. The best thing they can do, IMHO, is go foward with their plans while tuning out the angry noise, and attempt to address the issues that are presented maturely and respectfully.
