Hey,

Since today's update (August), I have noticed that all heavy thrown weapons with my characters have been affected.

The to hit numbers are all correct in that they use strength as the key ability, but damage is now using Dexterity instead of Strength.

This a bug or is there now a place you need to check for heavy thrown weapons.

This is on my Warforged fighter, and I have checked throwing hammers, javelins, handaxes.

Thanks,

Brandon

Why is such basic stuff breaking?

This breaks 6 of the 8 PC's in my gaming group (I've been telling everyone to carry a javelin). There's a big difference to go from doing 1d6+5 damage to just 1d6.

Yeah, the second August update has not solve the problem either. This is very annoying.

Trust me I understand. This effects 4 out of my 5 players.

I really don't know how this one broke, but I am doubting we will get any kind of immediatiate resolution. They seem to only like these 1x per month updates. The thing that I really dont understand, is why do we have to wait the two weeks from after books become available in stores, for it to become available in the Character Builder. I am sure they pre-do all the data entry months before the books are even for sale, since there is a publishing/manufacturing lead time.

well that question is very simple to answer. its because of money.
calculate the financial difference between 1 year of dndi and buying the books.
over the course of a year the difference is there. hence they make people wait for the builder versions in the hope that people will buy the books.

True enough. I mean most people who use the CB I am assuming buy the books. I own every book, even the ones I am not actively using right now. But I guess I understand their logic. Just annoying is all.
