This is particularly vexing when you have huge amounts of real estate given up on the second page for 'Mannerisms and Appearance", "Personality Traits", "Adventuring Company", "Companions and Allies", "Session and Campaign Notes", and "Other Notes". Not that I don't support writing up this information, but the priorities here are perposterious.
Rather than point out the many ways this is dumb, I will offer some solutions:
- Display Background. Seriously. If this worked well, it could even encourage folks to take multiple backgrounds (despite only getting 1 mechanical benefit).
- Reduce the fluff space on page 2 and consolidate with page 3. Mechanics on top, fluff below.
- Change above mentioned sections to "Character Description" and "Notes". That's it. Character Description not only encompasses appearance and behavior, but also can include custom background information, a staple of character creation that currently isn't supported. Notes then includes adventuring information like friends and campaign notes; everyone has different note-taking needs.
- Optimally the information in those two fields could spill onto another page if someone writes a lot (which is rare, but great, so let's support it). If power cards can do it, so can fluff informaiton. No reason for the current white space everywhere.
