Basic Attacks on Weapon Cards?

At our last game session, my wife wanted to make a Melee Basic Attack with a weapon she had recently obtained. The thought came up that it would have been convenient if the item card for the weapon featured a line that had the Melee Basic Attack stats for that weapon.

Anyone else think that's a decent idea? I know Basic Attacks are listed on page 1 of the character sheet as well as a MBA and RBA cards, but some characters carry more than one type of weapon and could have more than one type of Basic Attack available to them at a time. Having the Basic Attack info printed on the item card seems like a simple solution to us.

Thanks!

... they should, if you have equipped the weapon to that character.  If you haven't, then it wouldn't work, because there would be no way to know what stats the attack was using.

Or was that another feature that was left out of the online builder?

FFR, however, the MBA is Strength vs AC, 1 [W] + STR mod damage, 2[W] at level 21.

But the character builder/sheet only lets you have one main-hand weapon equipped at a time and that's the weapon reflected on the MBA card that the builder puts out.

Hypothetical: A character owns both a Longsword (prof. +3, dmg d8) and a Greataxe (prof. +2, dmg d12). When outputting the character sheet, the player only equips the Greataxe in their character's main hand. Now they have a MBA card with the Greataxe's stats. Halfway through the session, they (for whatever reason) decide to drop the axe and equip the Longsword. Now the character sheet and card reflect the wrong stats for the MBA.

If the ITEM card for the weapons in question reflected the stats for a MBA (or RBA for ranged weapons, or both for throwable weapons) then the player wouldn't be forced to calculate on the fly, as it were.

BTW, I'm well aware of how to calculate the stats for a MBA. I'm just saying that there are ways that these calculations can be made easier (or bypassed completely) for players who may not be as rules-proficient or math-savvy as the rest of us.

Yes.  It should.  It did, in the old one.

But the new builder is a steaming pile.

Thank you for your input.

Since I created this topic to propose a specific change to the current CB (one I see as an improvement, but opinions may vary), your judgement of the CB as a whole really isn't germane to this discussion.

For the record, while I acknowledge and appreciate the fact that you have an opinion, I disagree with your assessment.
