Hi people.

I have just updated the character-generator. I have found the Battle Intuition-feat. This is a really cool feat. It is a little annoying that it then will not display properly on the generated character sheet.

Battle intuition:
You can use your Wisdom modifier instead of your Dexterity modifier to determine your initiative bonus. Additionally you gain a +2 feat bonus to initiative.

As I read it this should exchange the modifier in the "dex"-field in the initiative-box with my wisdom-modifier. And put a +2 misc-bonus in the "misc"-field.
This is not happening. The +2 feat-bonus does appear, but the wisdom-modifier is not getting applied, and certainly not *instead* of the dex-modifier.

Character-details:
Deva, Paladin, lvl 4, 16 (str), 12 (con), 8 (dex), 12 (int), 18 (wis), 14 (cha) (All after modifiers).

I submitted this through the bug reporting system. It was acknowledged.

Hopefully it will be fixed by next release.

Cool. Where is the bug-report-system?

The program has a built in bug reporting system, however, you can also reach it via Customer Service

Choose "Email Us" then in topics "Role-Playing Games">"D&D Insider">"Character Builder">"Report a Bug"

You'll need to be logged into the Help System to use this, however, your forums log in is the same as the Help System.

I hope this helps.

Well, I'm not entirely certain it's a bug. The feat says that you "can" use your Wisdom modifier instead of your Dexterity modifier, not that you "must." And the default rule is that you use your Dexterity modifier.

What the CB should do is, by default, have your Dex mod (as it does now), but give you, the player, the option to change it.

Let me give you a hypothetical - let's say you have a better mod for your Wis than Dex, and use the Wis mod for your initiative mod. What happens if, by chance, your Wis drops belows your Dex (for whatever reason)? You'd then want to use your Dex mod, right?

The feat in question ALLOWS you to use your Wis mod, but it does not REQUIRE it. So, from a design perspective, I think the CB is right - but I don't think it is ENTIRELY accurate - it needs a customize option to allow you, the user, to change it (like the power cards allow you to customize based on which weapons you want to show or whatever.)

Nit picky? Yeah, it is, but I'm betting that's the basis for this.

After some precise reading of the feat, I will agree with you, it does say CAN. Although, as soon as the option for choosing something else arises, a dialog-box or a selection-list (like the power selection) should appear. Or optionally, it should display two initiatives, one using the dex-mod, one using the wis-mod (In the format fx. 10/14) and you can choose which ever you like for the particular encounter.

I think what is *strongly* implied is that you *can* use it instead of your Dex [if your Wisdom bonus is higher than your Dex bonus]. When does anyone ever choose the worse benefit?

Right. Most people wouldn't take this feat if they were going to use the worse one. But if for some reason your Wis bonus is lower than your Dex bonus, you'd then want to use the Dex bonus.

So, for me, it handles it the right way (since using your Wis bonus is a conditional, not static, change.) But I still think there should be an option for the player to tell the CB, "Hey, use my Wis instead."
