Spiked Gauntlet (Main Hand) + nothing(Offhand) gives the bonus. B). Weapon (Main Hand) + Spiked Gauntlet (Offhand) gives the bonus. C). Spiked Gauntlet (Main Hand) + Spiked Gauntlet (Offhand) does not give the bonus. If the Spiked Gauntlet counts as a weilded weapon for A and a free hand for B shouldn't C give the bonus as well? |

I, too, am having this problem. I have a player who wants to redo a character he played in 3.5. Monk didn't really work for him, despite being a good class, so he wants to go Brawler Fighter. Another character he built allowed him to equip a Broadsword in his main hand and a Spiked Gauntlet in his off hand and still get the bonus. However, he cannot dual-wield Spiked Gauntlets and still get his AC and Fort bonuses. I don't really mind if that's the case, but I'd at least like some clarity. If one is meant to grant the bonus, the other should. If one isn't, neither should. See what I'm saying? |

And although the Player’s Handbook states that “Many martial powers, as well as several divine powers, can be used only if you’re wielding a weapon. (You can use an unarmed attack as your weapon.)” the Character Builder refuses to acknowledge bare hands as weapons. I don’t get the AC and Reflex bonus, I don’t get the unarmed to hit bonus, and the Character Builder doesn’t even calculate attack or damage bonuses for powers requiring two melee weapons. |

| #5bajahMay 20, 2010 10:48:34 | If I JUST equip a spiked gauntlet and leave the offhand empty, I get the +1 bonus to AC and +2 bonus to Fortitude. However, I don't get the bonus to attacks rolls for unarmed attacks, etc. If I unequip the spiked gauntlet, I lose the +1 bonus to AC and +2 bonus to Fortitude... But now I get the bonus for attack rolls for unarmed attacks, etc... and it says the spiked gauntlet is used in the power breakdown. Confusing as all hell. |
