While it is physically possible for you to hold a magic shield and put on bracers, you can only benefit from one of those two, though you still get the AC and REF bonus for the shield. Equip the Throwing Shield in your Arms slot, then equip a mundane shield in your off-hand to get the Shield bonus to AC and REF. If you look closely, you'll notice that the Throwing Shield is a placeholder item only - it has no weight. This is to prevent you from equipping both a magic shield (Arms) and another Arms slot item (like bracers) at the same time and gaining the benefits of both at the same time. In that situation you need to pick which of the two magic properties work, but you still get the AC and REF bonus because you're still holding the shield, even if you're not using its powers. You can, of course, swap items around when needed if you have enough actions or in between encounters. |
