#1 loydb Apr 18, 2009 11:37:51	Trying to train Weapon Proficiency (Staff) in the latest build, and it is gone.

#4 Wayside Apr 20, 2009 19:20:16	I believe's rogues arent proficient with it. But also aren't staffs called quarterstaffs? Right, a staff is not a weapon, it's an implement (That you can use as a quarterstaff). A quarterstaff is a weapon, and the quarterstaff is listed in the weapon proficiencies.
#5 loydb Apr 26, 2009 8:49:10	There is no "Weapon Proficiency (Quarterstaff)" listed in the Feat Choices for a 4th level Wizard. There is "Weapon Expertise (Staff)" and "Weapon Focus (Staff)", so I'm not sure I believe that it's called "Quarterstaff". In any event, it isn't available under either name to a Wizard. Under the "Staff Fighting" Feat, it says that it requires proficiency with a quarterstaff (which implies that there should be WP (Quarterstaff) available). I am befuddled.
#6 Astromath Apr 26, 2009 9:22:49	According to PH pg 156 Wizards are already proficient with quarterstaff. That is why it is not showing up on the feat list.
#7 Janx_14 Apr 26, 2009 10:08:29	Because the Quarterstaff is part of the Staff Weapon Group, not to be confused with the Staff Implement. Weapon Focus and Expertise is by weapon group, not individual weapon. Note that there is no Weapon Focus Bastard Sword, but rather, Weapon Focus heavy blade. And the wizard is automatically proficient with the Quarterstaff, thus it does not display the feat to get it.
