I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I can't find it on the forums. This just happened to me, and I repeated the same steps and got the same results... While making a level 1 halfling rogue I purchased equipment. If I highlight a piece of equipment and double click the scroll bar, it adds the equipment to my inventory as if I had clicked the "Buy Item(s)" button. Nothing happens with a single click - only a double click. Very strange bug since the scroll bar and Buy Item(s) button should not be interconnected.
