| #1WotC_TrevorFeb 08, 2011 13:25:09 | Here's a list of the bugs/issues that were addressed in today's update. I'll leave it open for comments - if you find something on this list that hasn't actually been addressed, please let us know. ______________________________

| #2Darth_JerrodFeb 08, 2011 13:38:24 | Trevor Kidd is my Hero! |
| #3melloredFeb 08, 2011 14:24:37 | You should probably put up a link to the known issues. Edit: Like so |
| #4DargurdFeb 08, 2011 14:50:13 | Thanks Trevor for the latest update and it is clear that you guys have fixed a lot - HOWEVER - the A4 printing problem still exists. It still chops off the right hand side of the page :-( |
| #5ppaladin123Feb 08, 2011 15:13:42 | The epic destiny, "Dead God Avatar" from dragon 390 is still missing from both the compendium and the character builder. All the feats from that article are in the compendium/builder so I have no idea why this is missing. Could we please get it added in? |
| #6necrohemFeb 08, 2011 15:34:32 | Small Issue: It would be nice to have the druid Sentinel's pet have auto calculated stats (instead of level +2, etc for everything). Bigger issue: Can't choose a paragon path for the Sentinel instead of taking the essentials Paragon path. According to the essential's rules I should be able to take any paragon path that I qualify to take. Why do I want this? Because I want my Darksun Sentinel with the Elemental Priest theme to be able to take the Rain Bringer PP, which I should be able to do. Thanks! |
| #7Kelvor_RavenstarFeb 08, 2011 15:36:03 | For the Encounters players out there: March of the Phantom Brigade characters cannot select: • Fey Pact of the White Well (Hexblade) • Star Pact (Hexblade) • Earth Domain (Warpriest) • Pyromancy school (Mage) While their counterparts in Home Campaigns can. According to the materials sent out to the Encounters DMs, and what is published on the website, Encounters players can create characters using Dragon Magazine articles supporting Heroes of the Fallen Lands and Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms. Since these features are already available in the builder, it should not be a difficult fix to implement them on the Encounters side. I sent a bug report on this issue last week (excluding the Hexblade features which I was not aware were already available), hoping for this fix when the Encounters tab went from Season 3 to Season4, but the response I received to my bug report email was not favourable. |
| #8melloredFeb 08, 2011 16:14:52 | I can't power swap for celestial steed. |
| #9_Mithreinmaethor_Feb 08, 2011 16:18:50 | I can't power swap for celestial steed. If you are a Cavalier you have to Deselect the option on the Class screen and it will popup the screen where you can choose it. As an unleveled utility it can not be swapped out for a normal Paladin. |
| #10_Mithreinmaethor_Feb 08, 2011 17:12:04 | I can't power swap for celestial steed. Check your compendium. It is different from the Magazine. I would venture to guess that this is on purpose and was never meant to have a level since it requires a Cavalier to give up a Class power to get it. Others will try to argue otherwise but I am pretty sure in the end I will be proven right about this. |
| #11lyoncageFeb 08, 2011 17:20:00 | Resolute Stamina from Dragon 391 still isn't in the Compendium or the Character Builder. |
| #12g0gm4g0gFeb 08, 2011 18:16:27 | the A4 printing problem still exists. It still chops off the right hand side of the page Umm, yeah, what he said. This is a seriously frustrating problem. Can you give us an update on it? Thanks |
| #13seanwalshFeb 08, 2011 18:42:56 | Small Issue: It would be nice to have the druid Sentinel's pet have auto calculated stats (instead of level +2, etc for everything). Re: Small Issue I totally agree. Re: Bigger issue You can choose a different Paragon path, and here is how you do it. 1. Click on Details button on left hand side 2. Scroll down to Select Paragon Path 3. Click on selected Paragon path (Steadfast Sentinal) 4. Click on Deselect button at bottom 5. Select another Paragon path in pop-up window 6. Click on Select button at bottom |
| #14necrohemFeb 08, 2011 18:51:01 | Small Issue: It would be nice to have the druid Sentinel's pet have auto calculated stats (instead of level +2, etc for everything). Thanks for the instructions! |
| #15trollbillFeb 08, 2011 23:28:56 | I still cannot get the Adept, Novice and Acolyte Power feats to function. |
| #16zedcukFeb 09, 2011 1:47:41 | "My bard's at will "Vicious Mockery" changed to an encounter power for no apparent reason." Its still an encounter power when printed on the Character builder character sheet although you select it as an at-will power now. |
| #17melloredFeb 09, 2011 8:13:07 | I can't power swap for celestial steed. In dragon, it's called "Summon celestial steed", and the Improved Steed feats refer to it as such. But in the compendium, the power and the feats have a prerequisite for "Call celestial steed". Summon has a level. Call does not. Edit: I was looking at the non-compiled version of it. It has a level in Dragon. So they either need to change the magazine, or the compendium, but until then, Mag > CB. |
| #18ki11er_DMFeb 09, 2011 9:47:17 | You fixed my multiclass feat power swaping issue! YES! SOOOOOO happy : ) |
| #19gendrillFeb 09, 2011 10:31:47 | the A4 printing problem still exists. It still chops off the right hand side of the page I have recently managed to talk four of my group, and working on the other two, in to subscribing to D&D Insider specifically to make, update and print their characters, you can imagine how well it has gone down that after paying their money they can’t print them, or at least, they can but every A4 page is chopped off as said in above quotes. This is not just a wrong bit of wording or a wrong number printed, this is whole chunks of the character sheet missing! I understand there are priorities to bug fixes and some are easier to sort than others but I would of thought a major bug like this would be high priority, it stops people being able to do what the whole idea of Character Builder is about! I know for a fact that unless this is sorted soon not only will you be losing paid subscribers now, but have a slim chance of getting them and their friends back in the future so please sort ASAP guys and give us some feedback on a timescale too? |
| #20zedcukFeb 09, 2011 10:54:44 | Its definately annoying as hell. I guess ill have to try letter sized printing and accept my printer will throw a fit every page i print. Itll teach us UK folk to not follow the international standard right. |
| #21lokiareFeb 09, 2011 11:02:37 | Its definately annoying as hell. I guess ill have to try letter sized printing and accept my printer will throw a fit every page i print. Itll teach us UK folk to not follow the international standard right. I thought the international standard was A4? |
| #22melloredFeb 09, 2011 14:02:56 | Its definately annoying as hell. I guess ill have to try letter sized printing and accept my printer will throw a fit every page i print. Itll teach us UK folk to not follow the international standard right. Sorta. A4 really the EU standard. Letter is the US standard. They just call it international cause there countries instead of states. Not that WoTC (MS?) shouldn't fix the issue. This is should probably priority 1 now that you can build most characters. Also, lokaire, could you at least sblock your sig? It's huge. |
| #23sjpFeb 09, 2011 15:50:09 | Its definately annoying as hell. I guess ill have to try letter sized printing and accept my printer will throw a fit every page i print. Itll teach us UK folk to not follow the international standard right. A4 is the international standard as approved by the International Standards Org. Nearly all of the world use A4 paper sizes. Letter size is only in standard use in US and Canada. It simply shows up the focus of WotC which is the US market and they don't give a toss about the rest of the world. Printing would by any stretch of the imagination be a key feature of a character sheet tool. |
| #24ChrisSteeleFeb 09, 2011 16:38:23 | Where's the Executioner Assassin? Wasn't that Dragon #394 content? |
| #25thespaceinvaderFeb 09, 2011 16:43:06 | As it transpires, no, it was actually a playtest/preview for Heroes of Shadow. Who knew? |
| #26kangsthorFeb 09, 2011 18:26:44 | Here's a list of the bugs/issues that were addressed in today's update. I'll leave it open for comments - if you find something on this list that hasn't actually been addressed, please let us know. This sitll doesn't work. I tried thri-kreen and human with various level, class and setting and neither of them have any alternate choice available other than strength. I issued a bug report informed that they couldn't re-initiate this bug and give me some directions (cleaning, cookies browser history, checking latest driver for graphic and audio card, trying different browsers etc.) but none of the solutions works. I tried google chrome, IE 8 and mozzila firefox. I also tried this from different computers which some i know didn't had previous builder loaded in and still no change in this particular bug. 2nd bug I know is class skills doesn't show properly. It always show endurance and heal for most of classes and the one selected fro background option but no others. When choose for me selected it selects some skills but if they aren't endurance, heal or other skill their boxes doesnt let deselect. |
| #27tibisFeb 09, 2011 21:03:12 | Printing would by any stretch of the imagination be a key feature of a character sheet tool. Silverlight does no favours for the developers there; its printing support is primitive. |
| #28ChrisSteeleFeb 09, 2011 23:57:14 | As it transpires, no, it was actually a playtest/preview for Heroes of Shadow. How many versions of this poor assassin are we going to get? Just for my own reference, do you have a link to where that's stated? |
| #29zedcukFeb 10, 2011 0:21:06 |
And that is and way my point, ignoring an international standard because its not the US way is a mistake i see a lot of organisations (in the IT Security space) making when they are trying to open up the European market. This is one of those really silly bugs that shouldnt have been a bug. and for UK/EU etc players it just annoys the hell out of us when we are already angry about the character sheet layouts themselves. You should hear the moans at the table on a Wednesday night when we play about the current builder and the character sheets. |

| #33mr_wowtrousersFeb 13, 2011 0:24:59 | +1 on the A4 clipping issue from an Aussie who just signed up. It seems to be fine on the screen, then I print to PDF (A4) and it clips and then on the screen it appears clipped as well! Weird. I gots to say, as someone who just started playing and plonked down a bit of money for books and campaigns so I can try DM'ing and then another $70 for the Insider, with the CB being a major drawcard, this doesn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence in me. Hopefully this is fixed pretty soon as it is fairly intrinsic to the whole deal. ETA: Seems to print to "letter" fine, but still the A4 issues. At least I can get something on paper. |
| #34thespaceinvaderFeb 13, 2011 7:46:18 | Print to PDF letter sized, then print from the PDF with shrink to fit at A4 size. It's an annoying and stupid issue, though. |
| #35Plaguescarred1Feb 13, 2011 8:55:41 | I don't know if it was reported (probably is) but the HAND SLOT is filled in by a Two-handed weapon when equipped, instead of the OFFHAND Slot. Plague |
| #36qalinFeb 14, 2011 1:41:16 | Resolute Stamina from Dragon 391 still isn't in the Compendium or the Character Builder. I too am missing this feat, kind of annoying since most all of the other feats from that article were added to the builder. |
| #37thespaceinvaderFeb 14, 2011 5:02:33 | Resolute Stamina from Dragon 391 still isn't in the Compendium or the Character Builder. This is, for once, Not A Bug™. Resolute Stamina was not added to the final compiled edition of Dragon - which is the rules-legal entity and what is added to the CB and Compendium - because it was HORRIBLY overpowered. Download the compilation and check it for yourself. That was the one that allowed Dwarves to 2nd Wind twice/encounter, right? |
| #38MockFeb 14, 2011 10:34:45 | This is, for once, Not A Bug™. Download the compilation and check it for yourself. That was the one that allowed Dwarves to 2nd Wind twice/encounter, right? That's the one. Actually, as I recall, just about half the feats from that article were removed for the final compilation, as either overpowered, underpowered, or uselessly situational. |

Download the compilation and check it for yourself. That was the one that allowed Dwarves to 2nd Wind twice/encounter, right? Wow, you really have to dig to find that removal. I never get the compilations as I read the articles as they come out. I never saw any post or notification of those feats being removed. I suppose this was during Wizards' blackout in communication with us during the CB transition though, so I'll let it slide this time ;) |
| #40MockFeb 14, 2011 11:26:31 | This is, for once, Not A Bug™. Download the compilation and check it for yourself. That was the one that allowed Dwarves to 2nd Wind twice/encounter, right? When I was a subscriber, I don't recall them making explicit notifications about things being removed from articles, but then again, I also don't recall an article which was so substantially altered - if I recall, usually it was some typos, or changing a power's frequency, or whatever - nothing on the order of completely deleting 6 out of 12 feats. |
| #41qalinFeb 14, 2011 11:38:01 | This is, for once, Not A Bug™. Download the compilation and check it for yourself. That was the one that allowed Dwarves to 2nd Wind twice/encounter, right? I guess I've become dependant on the builder to let me know if something is still valid, I just didn't know how much to trust the new builder at this time. Nowadays, they are supposedly going back to articles and putting a big revision notice on articles, as they no longer do the compilations. |
| #42ShinichiFeb 14, 2011 16:15:51 | My Paladin still can't equip a Shield and a Holy Symbol at the same time. I had hoped this basic conflict affecting most Paladins would have made the cut for a 200 bug fix release. |
| #43guest1433761601Feb 16, 2011 15:06:29 | "My Paladin still can't equip a Shield and a Holy Symbol at the same time. I had hoped this basic conflict affecting most Paladins would have made the cut for a 200 bug fix release." You don't have to "equip" a holy symbol, it's accounted for on your implement powers which can use it from what I've seen, just have it in your inventory. |
| #44thespaceinvaderFeb 16, 2011 16:40:22 | Strictly, it fits into a slot which they haven't actually put into the new builder. And the new builder will ONLY calculate attacks for items which are currently equipped, so this is actually quite a big issue. It's been present since release, and not really been commented on. |
| #45NyarlathotepFeb 16, 2011 20:28:05 | Strictly, it fits into a slot which they haven't actually put into the new builder. And the new builder will ONLY calculate attacks for items which are currently equipped, so this is actually quite a big issue. It's been present since release, and not really been commented on. Yes and no. Yes on the 'technically a slot' thing. But I just built a paladin with a sword equipped in one hand, a sheild in the other and a non-equipped holy symbol in his inventory and it calculated all of his implement powers with the holy symbol. Likewise, he has a non-equipped dagger inhis inventory and it calculates ranged basic with that. So it WILL look at things that are not equipped, when appropriate. Not sure if this is a recent fix or not. |
| #46thespaceinvaderFeb 17, 2011 1:53:19 | I believe it is. WHich is good. Still ought to be a slot though, in case one has multiple symbols or multiple implements. |
| #47melloredFeb 17, 2011 9:21:18 | I believe it is. WHich is good. Still ought to be a slot though, in case one has multiple symbols or multiple implements. That's a problem even if you equip stuff. Say a bard with a crossbow and sword. Or perhaps someone who's carrying 2 seperate weapons for different situations with the same power. Though It seems to choose the one of the highest level from your invintory. |
| #48TaerlFeb 17, 2011 12:41:33 | Is it still not displaying multiple weapons? when i was updating my character yesteray i noticed that the power cards were now displaying the attacks for both of the Implements on my Warlock. I dont know if they would calculate anything non equipped though. |
| #49melloredFeb 17, 2011 13:07:28 | Is it still not displaying multiple weapons? when i was updating my character yesteray i noticed that the power cards were now displaying the attacks for both of the Implements on my Warlock. | #50vampsamaFeb 20, 2011 8:25:42 | Maybe its just me but the Armor Proficiency Feats. areno where to be found... |
| #51NyarlathotepFeb 21, 2011 22:47:58 | Maybe its just me but the Armor Proficiency Feats. areno where to be found... They are there. Are you sure the character you are looking at them for has the high enough stats for whatever armor he doesn't already have, i.e. Plate Armor proficiency requires a minimum STR and Con. Because if your character doesn't qualify for them, the CB won't show them. |
| #52frothsofMar 08, 2011 6:12:13 | the armor feats are under 'enduring stamina' i think, they arent mixed in w the other feats anymore |
| #53drnickMar 08, 2011 10:58:27 | Use the search. Don't mess with the categories because they're kind of dumb. |
| #54Mr_RoseMar 08, 2011 14:57:43 | Is it bad that I keep reading the title of this thread as "Bugs added ..."? |
| #55drnickMar 08, 2011 15:54:53 | No, because that would be accurate (thank god less are added with each release than are removed!) |
| #56windlaneMar 10, 2011 23:42:44 | The monk's to hit bonus is still not calculating correctly. It includes the "weapon proficiency" bonus they get from their unarmed strike in their melee basic attack, but doesn't include it with any other unarmed attack they can do. |
| #57thespaceinvaderMar 11, 2011 3:14:22 | The monk's to hit bonus is still not calculating correctly. It includes the "weapon proficiency" bonus they get from their unarmed strike in their melee basic attack, but doesn't include it with any other unarmed attack they can do. Monks don't add proficiency bonuses to any of their class attacks - only MBA and RBA. A Monk's attacks are all implement based, which means proficiency bonuses do not apply - the trade-off is that you hit non-AC defences, which are usually at least 2 points lower than AC. This is a feature, not a bug. |
| #58Plaguescarred1Mar 13, 2011 19:22:49 | My friend's Beastmaster Ranger got all his Powers screwed up. He basically has two Shortswords differently enchanted (one +1 and the other +2) and a Long Bow +2 and all his Powers Melee or Ranged only shows his two Shortswords and they have the highest stats for the two instead of being degraded. |
