Building A city

i need some in port im letting my players build a city for them selfs that they run them selfs pay for but none of my books help me in putting together numbers for how much stuff costs theres a chart on house and how much they cost but nothing else could someone give me some help? or maybe what book i could use? thanks

Well, you're in the wrong section. Go to 4e general forums. I can tell you try and find a Stronghold builders guide from old 3.0 so thats a place to start.

But you are in the wrong forums, so post over there.

The city builder volume http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=54937 series has good overall information on what makes up a city. Note that it has like 8 parts to it.

I'd start here with a magic medieval society. Its free

There is an expanded version but this also gives some good ideas.

In the 3.5 DMG2 I found some more good ideas for city building.

These all give good atmosphere and ideas. For rules I'd go with the Stronghold builders guide for building. I have yet to see solid rules for running businesses, taxes, etc.
