#1 Dunaria Feb 19, 2010 16:50:12	here : --- FOR ANY DEVELLOPPER OR WOTC  Customer service than could read this Post. Seem Dragonshard  damage bonus IS NOT caculated into DDICB character sheets. I,E Take a " Points blank Longbow +1 " with a  "Siberys Shard of Merciless Cold ( heroic tier ) " Costumise the " Points blank  Longbow +1" socket it with the shard.  Results :  NADA the +1 cold damage doesnt appears in any Cards  I should see +1 from the magic weapon and a +1 from the shard. so  +2 Damage I noticed that last game than we printed our cards with Caracter Viewers. You can try that with a Frost Longbow +1 doesnt works as well
#2 salla Feb 19, 2010 16:55:04	Were you using a cold attack with the weapon?  The shard only adds damage to cold attacks. From the compendium: You gain a +1 bonus to damage rolls with cold attacks that use the augmented weapon.

"You gain a +1 bonus to damage rolls with cold attacks that use the augmented weapon." The attack must deal cold damage in the first place to get the bonus damage.  If your attack already deals cold damage, you get another point.  If it doesn't deal cold damage, it does nothing.

The attack from a Frost longbow may or may not be cold, depending on whether or not you've activate its power.  That's why it's not included. It does work when I make a Swordmage, attach the shard to a Longsword +1, and look at the power Frigid Blade.

#8 salla Feb 19, 2010 19:00:38	how come a Frost weapon damage can't be cold? it depends on whether or not you've activated this power: Power (At-Will • Cold): Free Action. All damage dealt by this weapon is cold damage. Another free action returns the damage to normal. If that power is active, the weapon deals cold damage and thus recieves the bonus from the shard.  If you have not activated that power, then the damage is not cold and it does not recieve the bonus from the shard. Since the Character Builder has no way of knowing whether or not you're using the power or not, it doesn't automatically include the bonus.  You'll just need to write yourself a note that says you get +1 damage if the power on the Frost weapon is active.
