| #1zelqJan 01, 2009 19:07:53 | Tried to use the form, didn't work, got billed again. Now the help and contact forms are down. Anyone have an email address or something that I can use to get this taken care of? |
| #2ArtifactJan 01, 2009 20:17:28 | You have my sincerest condolences, zelq .Unfortunately, canceling auto-renewal online appears to be impossible at the moment. There is a phone number to CS that the ORCs are posting (someone should be along shortly). Until then, there are some other threads, by people who are having much the same problem: Here, here, and here. There's some discussion on what seems to be happening with the site lately. Hopefully they'll be of some interest for you. You're not alone right now ;). |
| #3zelqJan 01, 2009 21:31:26 | Yikes. I saw one of those, but man. I'll just wait it out I guess. Since I'm not alone, hopefully it won't be too long. Thanks! |
| #4KentinalJan 02, 2009 9:31:36 | WotC should have normal staff starting Monday, so hopefully things will get better that day. |
| #5ORC_KovacsJan 02, 2009 11:46:27 | zelq - We've emailed you at your address of record so we can get this resolved for you. Please reply to it as needed. I'm sorry you've ran into this, but we'll find a way to correct it for you. |
| #6zelqJan 02, 2009 17:39:18 | Tried replying to the email, but for some reason it's coming from your system to xxxxx@gmail.com.0001 with the email sans .0001 cc'd. So, when I reply, it doesn't match up to the sent address and doesn't go through. It's a conspiracy I say! ;) |
| #7myriadlayersJan 05, 2009 9:05:37 | I'm in the same boat, I've been trying since friday to get my account canceled, before it charged me, but alas, the site isn't working and I got charged anyways. Anyone know when this issue will be resolved? |
| #8ORC_KovacsJan 05, 2009 10:37:59 | myriad, the site is working, so you're experiencing difficulty of another origin. We will email you and find a solution for you. |
| #9KentinalJan 05, 2009 15:25:58 | myriad, the site is working, so you're experiencing difficulty of another origin. We will email you and find a solution for you. Clearly the site has not been fully functional for some based on posted error reports and and reports of just not able to use (without copy of error report). It may not be a problem for most users and odds are very good that you have not had an error. The fact that errors occur can indicate a few possibilities, server interface, router problem or coding problems. They are many reasons why you might not get an error however others do, these are the most likely. To blame the user is not what I consider the best reply, there again in general the ORCs tend to blame the user, say clear cookies, restart browser and/or read our knowledge base (of which at least one reported could not access). IIRC you are not paid for being a moderator or an ORC, however you do have a higher standing then the VCLs do. Blaming the user is not the best way to interface with the community IMO. |

| #11ORC_KovacsJan 05, 2009 16:39:04 | Clearly the site has not been fully functional for some based on posted error reports and and reports of just not able to use (without copy of error report). It may not be a problem for most users and odds are very good that you have not had an error. It isn't my intention to place blame anywhere, especially the user, when there are problems accessing any of our systems. We haven't had an unplanned downtime on our websites* for months now however, so if the site appears to be down for someone, the issue doesn't lie in the site being down. If cookies and/or temporary internet files need to be cleared, they need to be cleared - and they often do for all account problems, even if the root of the problem lies elsewhere. If a user has to do something on the local scale to fix a problem, that in no way implies that it's the users fault - in fact, problems in this area are generally completely out of an individuals control. Our sole purpose and desire in these matters is to solve the problem. *I'm actually not 100% certain on this fact - I'm actually only speaking for the help site, which is the topic at hand. |
| #12ORC_KovacsJan 08, 2009 23:38:59 | We've closed this thread in the interest of consolidating any further instances of these issues here. If you are experiencing problems accessing our help site, please post in that thread, and we will find a solution for you. |
