When I opened the CB, I expected them to all be gone, but instead it had blank icons with no portraits, names, or classes. If you click on the blank character icon, it pops up an error window that says "Character Load Failure" and then the icon disappears. But when you reload the application, the blank icon returns! |

| #4tiornysApr 22, 2009 21:58:55 | This is speculation. I have a text file in my Documents folder called builder_known_files.txt. It's a list of characters that I've created by the file path needed to get to those characters, e.g.: C:\Users\Scott\Documents\ddi\Saved Characters\Kry_veth.dnd4e@Main I suspect when you delete characters directly (rather than deleting them from within the character builder), you end up with dead file paths in this text document. I further suspect that you can get rid of your blank icons by going into this text document and deleting the lines that correspond to the characters you deleted. In case I'm wrong, I recommend making a back-up copy of builder_known_files.txt before editing it. t~ |
