Can't open certain characters since updating

I just updated today, but now whenever I load my old Psion from the last version, I get a character load failure. I think it might have something to do with the fact that he's a Psion from pre-update, and something changed in the way the current version loads Psion, causing a crash.

If I can't get my character to load, a way to view his feats and spells and such would still help.

One of the chars in my campaign had the same problem. He uploaded it to iplay4e.appspot.com to view it and then recreated it in the new builder.

Ah, thanks, I didn't know about that website! I got my character built, and found a great new resource.

Yeah, I'm having this problem too.  I think it's likely because of Versatile Expertise as that's the only change I've made to the character since the update.  This is the build community.wizards.com/go/thread/view/758... really aggravating that once saved it becomes unreadable by the builder and by that iplay site.  I can't explain it, either, as reading the XML in notepad doesn't really reveal anything wrong.

Append: Argh, seems the problem is, indeed, with Eternal Seeker and not Versatile Expertise.  Weird... and aggravating as it means I can't build into Epic at all until they fix the bug.  And yes, the bug renders the character file invalid in regards to iplay, too.

I have this issue with a Ranger / wizard multi-class with the Paragon path of Multiclass Paragon.  we cannot even create a new copy of him with out having a load error on a line in the 600s on column 4.  I was able to briefly make it loadable but after CB 'fixed' the file it was no longer loadable.  I would love to post the XML data if that can be done, its a houseruled character and it has many bonus feats, but it would work fine in pre april update.

This problem is readily reproducible -- create any 11th level character with paragon multiclassing, save the character, exit the program, and then restart it.  Somewhere in that process the character will "disappear" and not be visible on the load character screen, even though the character file is still in the directory.

Chiming in just to add that I'm having the exact same problem, also with a multi-class character (ranger/sorcerer to be specific).

Same problem here.  I don't have a DDI subscription anymore, so perhaps it was fixed in an update since then?

Also, the CB allows a character with multiple multiclass feats (Bard or Windrise) and all three power-swap feats to paragon multiclass even if the power-swap feats are used to gain powers from different classes.  They can choose powers from any of their multiclassed classes for their 11th, 12th, and 20th level PMC powers.  CS used to say that this behavior is intentional and legal, but the rules in PHB3 specifically contradict them.

While I don't have a technically challenging character (lv 3 fighter) it seems that it is not recognized since the latest update. I am subscribing to DDI so that should not be the problem. I did notice that I saved the character in my root My Documents folder and for some reason I could not see the character. I manually moved it into the DDI saved character folder and it is still not being recognized.
