Apologies if this isn't posted in the right place - the forum is littered with half-decade-old posts and dead links.
I've posted this a couple of places online, and while many people I talk to in-person have had this issue, it seems to magically be localised entirely in Australia somehow as nobody else seems to have this issue.
After years of not having time to play, I've finally decided to get back into it. First stop was to - of course - get DnD Insider. Compendium, character creator, comes recommended by guys I've met and members on DnD communities all over the net. Hey, this sounds super useful!
Slight issue. Despite having Java and Microsoft Silverlight, I can't even subscribe. Just straight-up no pop-ups - nothing happens which I click on the payment option. A friend logged on to his DnD Insider account on my laptop, and I couldn't even load the character creator (which, according to the WotC site, runs on Silverlight). No go on Chrome, no go on Explorer, no go on Firefox (the Character Creator on each shows as javascript:void(null);), no go on my phone, no go on my friend's laptop - but, it runs on his PC. Same story with a few other guys I've met which is enough to make me think something's up. I've also run it on different internet (disconnecting from my wi-fi and using my phone's internet on my laptop) just incase my internet was somehow the issue. I even tried disabling my adblock - and yes, indeedy, I have the 'I Accept the Terms & Conditions' box ticked.
My settings allow for pop-ups. Even if it didn't, no reason why it wouldn't work on my phone. I just don't get any popups. I've even double-checked to make sure Silverlight and Javascript are all up to date. When logged out, the subscription button does nothing. When logged in to my account, the it does nothing. When logged in to a friend's DDI, the compendium works, but the Character Builder does nothing (no pop-up) - annoying, as the Character Builder is what I'm after the most to make things easier.
It's kinda' funny I've never had an issue where I've been happily to part with seventy bucks, but can't. Anybody have any issues, or wisdom they can impart on this matter? Something I'm missing in the fine print? Cheers.
