Can we get an offical answer on this?

Dec 01, 2008 1:54:00 The December calendar listed Druid and Invoker as Playtests. Previous playtests were the Barbarian and Artificer, which were full 30th level writeups. The Druid article for Dec 1(which was listed as a Playtest) was for the first two levels only, and aside from a mention for more Druid in the Ampersand the Druid Playtest was not listed in the Dragon table of contents. The Invoker Playtest wasn't in the table of contents at all.

The question is, is the calendar incorrect? Are we or are we not getting playtests for these classes in December? This question may be answered via this thread or an update to the calendar if things have changed.

This late in the game, it's unlikely that there's any testing left to be done for the contents of PHB2 *see the bard treatment from last month*. The first 3 levels give you an idea of what it's going to be like to play/run Druids but they don't do more than tease anyone whose campaign has moved beyond 3rd level.

I foresee much wailing and gnashing of teeth from those who joined DDi simply for the ability to see the "playtest" of the Druid. Thankfully I have no-one currently wishing to play one so it's just a nice bit of reading *without all the worry*.

Dec 01, 2008 18:03:46 The editorial calendar now has renamed the Druid and Invoker to "Previews" -- no actual chance to help make these classes better for final release it seems, though maybe we can catch some of the needed errata so it's ready to go at launch.
