Now I'm really getting irritated!  I'm paying for this subscription so I can use an updated character builder.  Give us SOMETHING!  I'm really starting to get angry about this.  We are all PAYING FOR THIS!  You can't just ignore it because it's inconvenient.

At least update to the darksun information, seriously.  What is going on?  I've been waiting with so much anticipation to finally create a character in the CB and use all the new features for the last two months and you all dissappoint yet again!

You could also actually communicate what's going on and what the delay is.  Knowing why we have to wait might (and I stress might...) help some of us to be patient.  I, for one, am fed up with this.  I am a paying customer (we all are).  Treat us as such!  I pay like $70 a year to be able to use the information in the character builder and I expect it to be updated routinely.  It's not an unreasonable expectation!

let the flaming begin....  I just want what I'm paying for, is that too much to ask?  ... apparently it is.

Operaphantom08 I feel your pain.  Unfortunately, the pain you feel is a result of supply and demand.  There is only enough demand for one major supplier and some minor compotition.  WotC knows they have the best product available so it is not like a hardware store that has to compete for your business.  Based on this reality I find the level of customer support that is given to be above average for a company with a subsantial market share advantage.

I have simply cancelled my auto renew services and requested a refund for this past month.

As someone else said here, and I quite agree, the only way to voice critique with any business providing a service is to promptly ask for a refund for service not rendered or simply refuse to purchase any other service or product they offer in the future.

Personally, although I'm a bit disappointed with their current level of service, it's their lack of "follow thru" that borders on the appearance of not caring what kind of impact this delay is causing their customers.

Without rehashing the pros and cons others have so eloquently stated, or what we can still accomplish with or without the Character Builder Update, it's paying customers that are providing the income for a business to provide the a free version of said "CB" for everyone to enjoy but also its their ongoing monthly payments that allow them to continue to update said product regularly.

Hopefully, depending on what it will cost them or not, this will either provide them with some insight how much their paying customers are depending on there products/services and a much needed lesson on "over promising and under delivering".

Let's hope they deliver on their next "update"...I simply won't be surprised or disappointed again.

@totemensch Thanks, I'll take a look at that.

@olsenluke  Thanks for spelling that out for me, lol.  ^_^

@Dark_Mocker  I haven't decided if I'm going to cancel my subscription.  Probably if they try to delay it beyond the next due date (which supposedly is sometime in October), I will cancel.  It's just not worth it if I don't gain access to the benefits of the Character Builder's updates.  Although, I really do enjoy reading the Dungeon and Dragon magazine articles.

I've even tried to get some of my homebrew stuff published... but nobody's responded to my emails.  Which is kinda a bummer.

It seems to me like maybe they are short-handed...  They should hire some more people to work on programming this stuff for the character builder and the monster builder.
