The subject pretty much says it all. Also, why is there only partial encryption on the page where you submit your credit card info?? This seems to be a nice security hole. Thanks in advance!

There should be no problem with a prepaid visa card.

As for the partial security, from what was explained to us a while back, it is due to some images that are not encrypted. (Note that the explanation was more detailed, but that gets the gist of it).

I will ask WotC to add the info to the DDI subscription FAQ.

last time i checked it's the site displaying some kind of eula - it is available via https, wotc just failed to cross-link it.

if this is still present, they did an awful job of fixing things because i reported that to them like 6 months ago...

Ok, thanks for the reply. I'd rather do it that way than use my CC #.

That's what I thought it was as well. Would be nice to fix that, but since I'm gonna' use a Visa giftcard anyway, I'm not too concerned.

Oh yeah, one other thing. What does one put for "Billing Address" if one is using a pre-paid Visa card; since it has no information attached to it like a real credit card?

they still haven't fixed that.

\o/ go wizards I just got coke in on my screen.

Seriously hire people that know how to do these things if you can't set up a secure server you should not be taking money. Remove the stupid images and move on if that's the only way you can do it but for the love of god get it together.

Hi. I'm not sure which bank issued your card, but many pre-paid cards allow you to register them online or by phone with your address for the billing address. I believe you would need to do this in order to use the card in any of the Wizards of the Coast online stores.

You could also contact Customer Service and ask them what steps you would need to take in order to use the card to pay for your D&D Insider subscription.

Log in using your forum log in information, then click on the "Email Us" tab. For topic, choose "Role Playing Games", then "D&D Insider" then "D&D Insider Account", then "Order Issues" then ask your question in the body of the mail.

Hope that helps

According to the CS response I received:
We are aware of the site security notification - I would like to assure you that the website is secure, however, some web browsers are not recognizing the security certificate correctly. We and Digital River are working to correct this, and hope to have a resolution soon.
Yar I know MB but this has been an issue for some time now, and it has to be costing them money. Most people aren't going to come to the forums to find out why they don't have a secure server. Most of the time when you lose a customer you just lose them they don't research and they don't tell you. It doesn't inspire a lot of faith that something that has to be costing them an awful lot of subscriptions such as this and pay pall are seemingly beyond their ability to fix.

I tried 2 different CC cards (one being prepaid) in this last week and neither of them work don't understand why they even have the billing address thing as most credit card company's' don't use that anymore. Check the different sites even paypal doesn't ask for your billing address. They probably lost some money from me for sure as I was going to give them enough for a three month sub. but now I won't be for a while
