Cant Run Character Builder

Jul 04, 2010 23:37:30 As the Title says. I cant seem to run the Character Builder.
Yes i meet the requirements to run it.
I mean ALL requirements
I got Windows XP SP 3
I got .NetFram w/e version it was they ask

I get this with The Adventure Tool also.
This isnt my first time using this program. it worked perfectly when i had Windows 7 installed
Downgraded back to XP due to Gaming problems.

things i have tried:
i Re-Installed it. 5 times
i Have downloaded all the Windows Updated as told to.
i tried compatibility mode even though its stupid to try this on windows xp.

i would Rly like help please.

Jul 06, 2010 10:44:42 Your best bet would be to contact WotC Customer Service (see link at bottom of page) and ask for help. They will be able to troubleshoot your problem.

Jul 07, 2010 10:07:38 What is it doing when you try to run it? Do you get no response at all, or does it give you a specific error?

If you're getting an error, especially anything that complains about being out of this or unable to initialize that, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling .NET and then running Windows Update again to make sure it has the latest patches, since it's possible for .NET to get damaged.

Unfortunately, one of the most common ways for that to happen is due to a virus or other malware on your system, so it may be worthwhile doing a full system scan. The Win7->XP reversion is another possible culprit.

Jul 07, 2010 12:50:49 I had (and still have) the same error after installing .Net 4 on a Windows XP (English) laptop. I removed .Net 4, refreshed .Net 3.5, and then reinstalled CB, but it still does not work.
