Does WotC expect people that subscribe to DDI to play not just in the regular style of campaigns over long term story lines with the same DM, but are they hoping that Neverwinter Nights "Instanced" dungeons and encounters will pop up where people will be looking for short drop-in style play? If, and mind you this is all speculative, but if this is something they are hoping for, and IF 4e rules are really geared more toward working with the eventual rollout of DDI and the ADHD style of play that they would want to encourage then I am really worried about 4th edition. Of course this could be WAY off base. But it would at least make more sense out of the MMO style pricing they are considering. Of course if WotC would just tell us what is really going on and answer questions and Put REAL crunchy bits of information up on their website and the DDI page instead of little throw away bits then my mind would not really wander off into the feild of rampant speculation now would it? Cheers! |

This is enabled because if one or two people in a group subscribe, they can then issue a number of free passses every month to their players to join in on their tables, and further, by the ability for players to buy "day passes" if they only need occasional access. Between that and the lobby I think DDI is looking to support both types of play (and with their increased support of the RPGA - might even be supporting both simultaniously). |
