I get an "updaterstub has stopped working" error after I have installed it an tried to run it.
I have read almost this whole forum looking for a fix, and yes I have done these steps:
- Uninstall the old character builder (beta version).
- Make sure you completely uninstall the new Character builder.
- Delete any WotC folders left over from the uninstallation.
- Delete the files you have downloaded.
- Restart your computer to make sure that there are no installations/uninstallations hanging around.
- Re-download the files and try again.
AND
- Click Start --> Run --> type in the word regedit
- In the Registry Editor open HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SOFTWARE --> Wizards of the Coast
- Delete: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wizards of the Coasta1ddbc4-4503-4392-9548-d0010d1ba9b1
- Right Click on the folder and select "delete"
- Reboot your computer
