| #1grifta67Dec 07, 2011 2:00:05 | Hi everyone, I finally broke down and signed up for DDI. Initially I've been pretty happy with it, but ran into a huge snag tonight. I was trying to update my character for the first time and add a new item. Every time I try to search for an item using the Find Equipment tab, the CB page dies. First it goes non-responsive and I either have to manually force close it or it eventually crashes itself and says "Plug-in Failure". This happens for both the main Search and the Advanced Search. I'm on a 2010 MacBook Pro and tested this issue on both Safari and Chrome browsers. Is this a common issue? What can I do to fix it? Apologies if this has already been answered but the search on these forums is less than stellar. Thanks! -Sean |

| #3weepingminotaurDec 16, 2011 6:49:00 | Same thing on my MacBook Air running Lion. I can't use the Search feature at all and I've tested it on both Firefox and Google Chrome. Very annoying, especially since there are items I can't otherwise find in the Marketplace (like boons, for example). |
| #4weepingminotaurDec 23, 2011 9:46:44 | Wizards: is anyone planning to address this severe issue? I cannot use the Search Item function in the Character Builder. It crashes the builder on a MacBook Air running Lion on Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. It also crashes a MacBook Pro running Snow Leopard on Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome. This is broken functionality. Please provide some kind of response ASAP. |
| #5sythspawnDec 27, 2011 9:06:36 | I've also had to force quit my browser when searching for a boon. (Why aren't they easily accessible in the marketplace?) I'm running 10.5 on an iMac. |
| #6MarandahirDec 27, 2011 9:12:19 | Are you running in Silverlight 4 or in Silverlight 5? |
| #7sythspawnDec 27, 2011 9:19:35 | Are you running in Silverlight 4 or in Silverlight 5? Not sure. Will have to look when I get home from work. |
| #8MarandahirDec 27, 2011 9:25:09 | Silverlight 5 doesn't currently work with Cbuilder – it's a known issue. If you can, revert to SL4. I currently am having issues reverting. ;_ ; |
| #9sythspawnDec 27, 2011 9:37:23 | I must have 4 at home, then, because I am still able to use the CB. It just has a tendency to crash (especially when I click "Set Portrait") or become unresponsive when searching for items. |

It just has a tendency to crash (especially when I click "Set Portrait") or become unresponsive when searching for items. Mine worked with 5 as well, but had a high tendency to crash for no reason after I updated to 5. Some people can't get it to work at all with 5, but it's possible to run, just extremely buggy, with 5. |
| #11phimitchell12Dec 27, 2011 17:34:39 | I am experiencing the same issues (2011 Macbook pro running 10.7.2) . It used to do this sometimes with portraits, but would work after a crash & reload. Now it freezes 95% of the time when searching for items and does so over and over again. This has been happening for the past week. More than a little frustrating, but I did not suddenly change Silverlight to my knowledge so doubt that is the issue here. |
| #12Sharn_InquisitorDec 30, 2011 10:50:00 | I'm having this problem with items as well. 2010 Macbook. |
| #13weepingminotaurDec 30, 2011 12:00:07 | Are you running in Silverlight 4 or in Silverlight 5? I am running Silverlight 4. I'm aware of the issue with Silverlight 5 and have not installed it. |
