CB Freezes up on me

Hi
I am unable to launch the Character Builder correctly anymore. After in mid process of creating a Slayer, it froze and everytime i would Refresh the page, it would Recover the PC but freese. I finally discarded it and everytime i fire it up, i can't pass the Screen to Build a Quick Essential Character, Build a Custom D&D Character or Load a Character. Everytime, i choose to load one of my character or in the other section select a DarkSun or Standard D&D Campaign and a level, the screen pales off and freeze. Nothing else happen. Oh and i am asked a Recovery of a Level 0 Character with no Portrait everytime, which i discard....

I’ve contacted Customer Services by E-mail but i won't get a reply til tomorrow i guess.

Anyone has this problem ? Anyone can help me ?

Nov 17, 2010 22:07:57 I'm in the same boat. I tried loading a character I built earlier today just fine, but now it freezes every time. I tried other characters and even tried building a new character, all with the same result.

I hope I they didn't loose all of our characters.

How do we run this off line? I play threw a couple of sessions in a night and like to make updates in between, but we don't always have internet access where we play.

At least i am not alone.
It's disappointing for i was in for a night of new experiments and it just won't launch.

I feel like if i was about to do a girl but she just felt asleep.

The excitement is fading slowly.

Ahhh the trials and tribulations of SAAS products. I hope they aren't using MS SQL...

I guess I'll reserve judgement until I can see what this thing actually looks like

Same issue here, I was midway through making a Mage, then it crashed and now won't let me recover, discard, make a quick character, make a custom character, nor load one of the ones I've already saved. Blah.

Nov 17, 2010 23:58:59 Froze up for me in Chrome upon pushing the "New" button. Then I tried in IE and it froze up while I was trying to load a character from the previous CB.

Why did they dedicate resources to improve something that was already nice and functional? Where's my character visualizer and the other 4 buttons in Adventure Tools?

Nov 18, 2010 0:03:27 i had scheduled a character building session with 4 hot babes new to D&D specifically on this date so that I could use the new CB. But it wouldn't launch. So I had to reboot my mac into windows mode to use the old CB and I used the word reboot and now they think I am a nerd, and will never have sex with a woman. Thanks Wizards.

Nov 18, 2010 0:20:56 I am also having an issue with the character builder freezing. Currently for me it loads the initial page, then freezes when I attempt to create an essentials character or upon choosing a campaign setting for a custom character. Reloading generates an error.

Update:
Looks like the issue is resolved, at least for me. The Character Builder is working fine on my system now.

I sent them this error message:

Nov 18, 2010 1:33:26 Arrrr   I managed to make a full Slayer, Level 12 and when it got time to trade Mystic Slayer for Kensei Paragon Path, the beast crashed. Now it won't even launch.

Hope they get this thing up and running fast.

I sent them this error message:

System.ServiceModel.FaultException: System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.

This seems to be the error message that quite a few people are getting. I also recently starting receiving this error everytime upon trying to launch the CB and reported it in a different thread.

Nov 18, 2010 8:35:32 Got in on my lap top this morning and am editing my character. WIll try my desktop (where I had the problem last night) and see if it's fixed now.

Looks like someone kicked the server this morning and told it to wake up...

You'd think that support would actually try the app to see if they could reproduce it before having you run around in circles...

You can't run it offline - it requires an internet connection to function.

As for the freeze-ups, I had those last night. They would come and go.

Nov 18, 2010 9:11:24 I have yet to successfully upload an existing character or make a new character in this builder. Every time I try I get this freezing error discussed in the thread. Awful product. I've e-mailed the report a bug to complain, will share if I get a useful response.
