| #1Negflar2099Jan 29, 2009 13:31:38 | Couple of quick questions about the new Character Builder 1) Is it possible to turn the character sheets into PDF's and if so how do you do it? I tried looking in various places and couldn't find it. 2) Where are the character portraits? When I tried changing one of the portraits on one of the characters I had created in the demo it took me to an empty folder. Are there no more character portraits? That brings me to my final question. 3) How you do go about making character portraits yourself? I know you could just cut and size an existing image but what format should it be saved in? Thanks. |

Our recommended method for saving your sheets as PDFs (and this is quite possibly the most frequently asked question for which there are many threads on the forum already) is to install a PDF Writer on your machine, which is basically a Printer Driver that you can print to like a normal printer, but it will prompt you to save a PDF file instead. Most versions of Windows come with such a driver, and there are many freeware and shareware PDF Writers also available. CutePDF is a common and popular choice, for example. 3) How you do go about making character portraits yourself? I know you could just cut and size an existing image but what format should it be saved in? Character Portraits support a wide array of graphics file formats including (but not limited to): BMP, GIF, Icon (.ico), JPG/JPEG, PNG and TIFF. So use any graphics program and save in one of those formats and you should be able to choose the file to use as a character portrait. Once in your Character Sheet, you can zoom and pan the image in the portrait area with the scroll wheel on your mouse and by click-dragging respectively. Hope that helps! |

Your reply answered all my questions. By the way I think the Character Builder might be the single best piece of RPG software that I've ever used. |

Heh, it's comments like this that give me reason for getting out of bed every morning. ;) And to think we have so many more features and enhancements yet to come. We are here, we are listening, and we're doing what we can. |
