| #1theandoJun 15, 2009 23:12:18 | OK, so I had the CB installed on my old laptop, and it worked great. Never had any problems with it. Now, my laptop goes down, so I install the CB on my wife's laptop, which isn't a very good laptop, but it meets the specs. But the CB won't update! If you just double-click a .dnd4e character file, it will open the character, but if you try to open it from the main icon and let it look for updates, it'll sit there for hours saying it's "checking for an update". Thinking it might just be her laptop, I decide to hell with it, I'm installing ti on my fairly whiz-bang work laptop. It's an XP Pro machine with 2GB of RAM and tons of hard drive space. It installs like a champ...but it STILL won't update!!! I've been letting the bastard run for probably 4 or 5 @#(*%& hours, and it's still on the @(#*&@( splash screen, saying it's "checking for updates". These two laptops couldn't be more different; the only thing they have in common is that they're both Dells. Surely the CB doesn't discriminate against a manufacturer. Granted, I hate Dells too, but come on! Is there some known bug about that? |
