| #1rashakaJun 10, 2009 3:26:47 | I'm not sure where the problem lies, but I'm starting to think it may just be the fact that the character builder does not give the dex bonus to agile armor properly... A character with a Dex of 17 (+3) At level 1 with no armor bonus feats, I have an AC of 17 in hide armor. The same character with chainmail armor also has an AC of 17. I assume this is because the hide armor plus my Dex bonus equal to 6 AC and since chainmail removes your Dex bonus but has a base of 6 AC the numbers are the same. However, if I change the chain armor to agile chain armor +1, which gives your dex bonus equal to the bonus of the armor to your AC. My AC should go to 19, but it only goes to 18. Which means either it is only giving the +1 armor enhancement bonus or only the dex bonus. Surely this has to be an error, since it basically makes the armor no better than plain chainmail. I have also tried this with hide armor +4 and agile chainmail +4. I end up with a 21 AC with both armors. If it was adding my dex bonus in I would have a 24 AC while wearing the agile armor. Sound like a bug? Is this a known issue that I just didn't notice while browsing the forums? Is this working as intended? =-) |

Edit: ah, I think I see the problem - unless you're meaning magic hide, at Level 1, your base AC is 16, not 17: 10 + 3 (Dex) + 3 (Hide). |
