When I attempt to fire up the online character builde, it appears to be loading, but when it reaches 100% nothing happens-the % loaded messages disappears and I am left with just a white screen.  Any suggestions/fixes?

Are you behind a firewall?

This is happening to me as well.

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; en-US; rv:1.9.2.14) Gecko/20110218 Firefox/3.6.14

I am not behind a firewall and I am set to English as my language.

Sometimes I get the download silverlight message but it is installed on my system and if I follow the link the website confirms it.

I reinstalled Silverlight again and was finally able to get it to work. This is the second time I've had to do that (on two different macs).

Hi all,

I'm running a brand new laptop with a clean install of Windows 7. I use IE 8. Silverlight is preloaded. When I try to launch the character builder, I get the Silverlight prompt (it tells me I need Silverlight). When I allow it to try to do so, it tells me I already have it loaded.

After reading through this, I uninstalled Silverlight and rebooted. Then I reloaded it and rebooted again (just to make sure).

I still get the same problem.

Is there a deeper fix?

Okay, so here are a few thoughts:

1. Maybe a browser issue? Try installing Firefox or Chrome and see if it works there. If it does you have a problem with IE. Try running with no Add-ons (the option is available in the start menu under "all programs"->"accessories"->"system tools") and/or resetting your browser history.
2. Maybe a security issue? New systems often come loaded with trial security software. Try disabling that and the Windows Firewall to see if that works.
3. Maybe an OS issue? Could be an issue with the OS. Try opening an elevated command prompt (go to "Start", type "Cmd" into the search bar. When the command prompt icon (cmd.exe) shows up, right-click and select "Run as Administrator..."). Type "sfc /scannow" into the prompt with no quotes and press enter. A scan of critical os files will commence to make sure they are not corrupted or maliciously replaced.
