Character Builder for iPad?

Is Wizards looking at porting the Character Builder to the iPad (or Macs for that matter)?

Quite true. However, they don't need to. The Character Builder software could be a free download.

It is only when you try to turn the 'app' on that it asks for your login info, uses the Wi-Fi/3G to confirm you are registered to use it, download updates, etcetera.

I don't think it is a payment thing. More of a programming thing.

A simple character sheet where you can mess with HP/surges easily would be good, but the sky's the limit for how much more you can do. All your power cards visible, and click on a power and it would 'flip' over (expended). Click the 'short rest' or 'extended rest' button and they all flip back. Keep track of magic items. If you want to get really fancy have them talk to each other and the DM, so the DM can keep track of party HP / powers if they desire.

I don't think I'll see even a fraction of this, but the possibities for DnD are really interesting.

Actually, everything you listed can be done on the current Character Builder Character Sheet. Wizards doesn't need to add new functions. They just have to port the existing functions over.

BTW: If you don't know what I mean, load a character, open the character sheet, and start clicking in the boxes next to the various powers or daily magic item usage. Then look in the top toolbars for "apply a short rest/extended rest/milestone" and see what it does. (I'll wait)....

Neat, huh?!

Is there any word on a possible app for the ipad? I bought one hoping that I could install cb on it without looking for mac compatability first and got an unpleasant surprise. I am still happy with the ipad just would really love a cb app for it.
