| #1brujoOct 09, 2010 12:22:17 | Character Builder ... Arrrghh ... Honestly I just paid 9.95$ for nothing :/ Since I decided to finally try with all of the recent updates the CB, I bought a month of dnd insider and downloaded. After 2 hours of failures due to several strange uknown reasons, I reached a point whre I managed to install it, update it and boom, it hangs up at final completion bar. It simply sat there for over 30 minutes, decided to do it again, the same, then all of a sudden it said "UPDATE LIMITE REACHED" and I was Arghhhhhhh.... A CS message later just told me, after I specifically said I got the UPDATE LIMIT REACHED thing that I needed to reinstall, turn off firewall/av etc meh :/ Everytime I try to update I get this. Honestly, I should have torrented the damn thing instead of going legit ![]() |
| #2obericOct 18, 2010 22:04:22 | I've allowed it through the firewall, turned off AVG, reinstalled, uninstalled, redownloaded, reinstalled that 3.5 pack 1 .. whatever microsoft thing. paid money, emailed back and forth, NO RESULTS. We insiders need a full download from the site option. |
| #3PinkRoseOct 18, 2010 23:39:19 | The update worked for me. |

| #5smrundOct 22, 2010 13:10:52 | I fought with it for two days last week. Fortunately, it did not trigger my limit. The result that was generally successful for me was the following. Uninstall Character Builder and any other WOTC DDI-related software(for me this was only Dungeon Tools). Restart Install Character Builder from a FRESH download. Let it start updating and walk away. I had to let my PC sit for almost 5 hours, but it finally did it. Depending on your firewall software, you may have to disable it. I use Norton 360 and as far as I know, it did not interfere. if it keeps giving you the "update limit reached" you'll probably have to contact WOTC. |
