Character Builder Load Times?

Feb 21, 2011 11:06:57 Every time I start the character builder, it takes the ting about 10 minutes to load and I am on a broadband connection. Does this thing not use browser cache?

Anyone else getting really long load times?

Feb 21, 2011 13:02:43 I have never had any issues with the OCB (other than the bugs and missing features). And since I'm not into guessing you'll have to provide more info if you want some possible solutions. Any of the following could be your problem:
Hardware
OS
Browser
Silverlight
.NET
Viruses

Generically make sure you have all the latest updates and aren't infected.

Feb 21, 2011 14:56:25 I've noticed that my load times vary greatly depending on the computer I'm using. On my Vaio laptop running 7 with 4gb ram and an i5, it loads in about 30 seconds on my work connection (80mbps down [that's not a typo]), 1 minute on my home connection (25mbps down). On my home desktop, running Vista with 1gb ram and 1.8 GHZ Core 2 Duo, it takes about 2.5 minutes (25mbps down).

My first suggestion would be to make sure you have the latest updates of Silverlight and .NET. If that doesn't help, try using Google Chrome, or IE9 beta.

You're not the only one that experiences this. It's just another example of the epic failure the online CB and DDI in general have become.

Feb 23, 2011 14:03:22 the longest its ever taken for me is like a minute or two, sometimes it basically opens to that screen with the hourglass.
