Character Builder not Loading?

Jul 06, 2012 16:03:53 I know there's a better board for this, but it gets so little traffic I'll spend the next day twiddling my thumbs.

Anyway, the builder isn't loading for me. Hasn't since last night. Anyone else having a problem? Any easy fixes I need to throw down?

its loading for me but took a minute. try it again

I had a problem after running CCleaner and then couldn't get the builder to load until I cleared the Firefox cache and history (in Firefox -> Tools -> Options -> Privacy -> Clear history when Firefox closes) and then close Firefox. When I restarted, everything worked. (And don't forget to go back in and uncheck the box once things are fixed.)

If you do not use CCleaner, then I do not know what to suggest.

Jul 08, 2012 4:45:10 I've heard that if there is a font installed on your machine that has an ampersand (a & sign), that the character builder will glitch and not load properly.

I have no idea if that's true or not. The builder has never loaded for me either though. Like your experience, it often hangs around 48% or so. I've tried Internet Explorer and Google Chrome, no joy.

So, I just assume I have a font (buried somewhere) on my machine that is not playing nice with the program. Haven't dug up the specific font yet though (a hundred or so to look thru). I gave up on the online builder long ago, and I'm happier for it ;).

Jul 08, 2012 6:54:02 Up until a few days ago I have had no problem loading the building. I have changed nothing on my machine in the past few weeks so I have no idea what the issue could be.
