Character Builder printing error.

After the February patch to character builder I can no longer print any of my character sheets. I also tried creating a new one and that didn't even work. My computer meets all the requirements for running the software I made sure of that. I am running windows xp sp3. The error I get is the following.

PrintTicket provider failed to convert DEVMODE to PrintTicket. Win32 error: -2147221164.

The program also once getting this error closes and gives me the option to send the error report off to wizards or not to. I have submitted the error to wizards via this method, but I'd much rather not wait till late march to get this fixed. So if anyone could help me with this issue I would appreciate it.

I don't have the same problem, but I don't print the character sheet directly. First I convert it to .pdf format.

Until now all character sheets was suitabled printed.

I run a Windows XP laptop without printer, and I must convert the sheets on PDF. Every PDF converter I'll try report the same error.

Yesterday I connected it directly to a printer, and even printing directly I received the same error (And the program shuts down).

I repeated the procedure and invied the report, but the strange is that I've incurred in this problem only with the full version of the program.

When it was in beta (Lvl 1-3 only) I've converted to PDF without problems. Only after buying and downloading the full program I became incapable to print anything.

Between the programs I haven't installed anything...

Maybe a non-recognized PDF pattern set?

Maybe there's a required XP patch to apply? But if so, why the beta version was functioning?

I solved my printing issue.

Specifically I would get the error "PrintTicket provider failed to convert DEVMODE to PrintTicket. Win32 error: -2147221164".

The builder would then request to send the info somewhere, presumably wizards.

My issue was with the MSXML6 install. To fix it I went to the add-remove programs control panel and removed all the MSXML versions. Then I downloaded the MSXML 6 service pack 1 from microsoft and after installing that I can print.

That MSXML 6 service pack 1 can be gotten from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...ng=en#filelist

Note that I have not done an update yet, so that may break things, also note that the above MSXML 6 sp1 would not install until I removed the old MSXML 6 Parser install.

I can print!
