| #2sallaMay 02, 2010 19:30:32 | The Spiked Chain only has the off-hand quality if it's wielded by someone with the Spiked Chain training multiclass feat. Does the character in question have that? |
| #3arthurrwMay 02, 2010 19:31:20 | yes.... |
| #4_Mithreinmaethor_May 03, 2010 3:04:18 | If you look in the shop at the item you will see that only one side has the off-hand property. This is inline with the changes made to ALL dual weapons. |
| #5arthurrwMay 03, 2010 4:46:11 | I can see that, but when you put it in your hands on the power cards it isn't adding all the bonuses for off handedness.. |
| #6_Mithreinmaethor_May 03, 2010 13:21:03 | Because it only shows the stats for your MAIN Hand. Until they can figure out how to program the weapons so that it can show Main and Off hands you will only ever see the Main hand. |
| #7arthurrwMay 03, 2010 19:16:49 | Until the last update it used to count the chain as an off hand weapon and give you all the bonuses you should have, this last update broke it ![]() |
| #8chaosfangMay 04, 2010 2:35:12 | Until the last update it used to count the chain as an off hand weapon and give you all the bonuses you should have, this last update broke it Perhaps it was because it never should have been considered as an off-hand weapon unless you had the ability to wield it as a double weapon, and even then only one side could be considered as having the off-hand property... so the previous updates actually showed the off-hand bonuses, and not the main hand bonuses? |
| #9arthurrwMay 04, 2010 4:46:39 | That is possible but then how do we get it back to being able to show the off hand. |
| #10malcolm_northwinterMay 04, 2010 11:44:29 | In my character builder, the spiked chain is equipped as a two-handed weapon. However, my attacks as a whirling barbarian all use the appropriate modifiers as though the spiked chain was being dual wielded, as per the spiked chain training feat. I have the most up-to-date copy of the char builder. Check your character sheet power cards again and see if it's calculating the damage appropriately with the 2d4 [w] damage and adding your bonuses, even if they don't appear to be in the rest of the information. Also, try clicking the option to show all weapons. Mine isn't set that way, but it may help you to see it. It's likely the builder assumes you're using it 2-handed when you aren't making attacks that require 2 weapons, so it's maximizing damage at the cost of dual wielding. |

He would need the CB to show the main hand and the off-hand stats so he could see both his normal and enhanced bonuses. It is going to require the programmers to figure a way to program the dual weapons so that when they display on the powet cards that you get 1 entry for main hand and 1 for off-hand. |

He would need the CB to show the main hand and the off-hand stats so he could see both his normal and enhanced bonuses. Like I said, until the last update it was calculating correctly now it isn't. |
| #13_Mithreinmaethor_May 04, 2010 18:48:20 | Until the last update it was assuming that both ends were off-hand and so it calculated the bonuses. The rules on dual weapons changed prior to the last update so when that updated happened it changed it to follow the new dual weapon rules. Since by the new dual weapon rules only the off-hand side of the weapon is considered off-hand, and the CB only calculates the main hand weapon, the programmers will have to find a way to program dual weapons so that they show both main and off-hand. But it appears that they are only doing updates on the CB and MB currently as they are working on another tool. So you are going to have to grab a pen or pencil and write it in yourself for the off-hand portion of the weapon. The card is correctly displaying the main hand portion. |
| #14arthurrwMay 04, 2010 20:06:58 | but the problem here is, that it displays it correctly with the off hand bonuses if you change the weapon to a dual sword. |
| #15_Mithreinmaethor_May 05, 2010 6:37:25 | If it does tha then it is a bug. Since 2 updates ago dual weapons were changed so that only the off-hand side was treated as off-hand. So perhaps you should report this as a bug. |
