I have a few questions on this
1) will this affect my bandwidth?
2) why is 800 mb being sent to my printer
3) if i print to PDF its 125 mb (which still seems high)

- allow the removal of the fancy background on the pages
- add a smaller print option that cleans it up
Character builder was taking a long time to print, then i saw the printer was being sent over 800 MB

There are several threads about this already. Silverlight 4 does not have built in print support so the Character Builder prints the character sheet as a large image file. Luckily when Silverlight 5 is released it does have built in print support.
Your best bet is to download a program like PDFCreator (my choice) or CutePDF and print your character sheets to PDF and then print them as you need them. If you get one of these programs make sure to change the settings to 150 dpi (PDFCreator) or 144 dpi (CutePDF).
Since he has the PDFCreator (see image), and is not using it to reduce the file size for print, and because I don't know is bandwidth; I would offer he try photocopies of character sheets and pencil. After a few times the CB speed will seem much faster. ;)
He apparently has not set his DPI correctly
