Character builder won't launch, can't sign out of DnD insider

1. The character builder won't launch - I get the spinning hourglass graphic and then it tells me that my session has timed out, do I want to sign in again? If I say "OK" it thinks for a few seconds and then asks me the same question again. If I say "cancel" the builder closes. Opening it again gives me the same problem.

2. Thinking that maybe logging out and logging back in would solve the problem, I've found I can't sign out of DnD Insider.....! I hit the "logout" button and nothing happens. The page reloads but it still says "Welcome: Yougottawanna."

Is there a workaround for this problem?

I have cleared my browser and the character builder will still not open. IE 8

Works with Chrome though.
