| #1BadgeredMushroomJul 17, 2011 22:25:01 | To Whom It May Concern: The D&Di character builder is not factoring in the level bonuses to stat checks. When I leveled my playgroup's characters to 2, they received the +1/2 level bonus to stat checks on the first page of their character sheets (the non-Essentials sheet), but they didn't receive that bonus to any of their "ability cards" or their "cheat sheet" character information on the ability card pages. If this could be fixed during the next update I would greatly appreciate it. Also, feat descriptions need to go into more detail on the character sheets that are produced by the builder. Having to open the compendium to get a full description of a feat is rather irritating when all y'all would need to do is copy/paste that information into the feat section of the character sheet. Thanks for your time. |

Keep in mind that you shouldn't double-count the bonus, which is a common mistake when looking at the ability check bonuses, and also that ability modifiers like "Wisdom modifier" are not affected by the half-level bonus. Your defenses and attack rolls should all go up by 1, but nothing else relating to your ability modifier increases unless your ability score increases. To clarify again, your ability modifier is not affected by the half-level bonus. When you make an attack roll, you add your ability modifier plus the half-level bonus, but that does not mean that the ability modifier includes that bonus. And yeah, the feat descriptions on the sheets really, really suck. |
