Jan 19, 2010 15:22:34 Is anyone else getting this error after updating?

Most of my old characters load just fine, but two of them give me that error whenever I try to load them, now. Both are hybrid characters, but I also have two hybrid characters that have no trouble loading.

The only thing I can think of is that, perhaps, I did something that was legal in the last version, but is no longer legal - and that somehow causes a crash on load which is handled by canceling and throwing up that message... but without a way to open the character, I can't fix it.

I wouldn't mind re-entering the data, except that I can no longer look at those character sheets (and have no way to roll back my application version). I opened them up in a text editor to see if I could do it by hand, but there is a lot of data there, and I'm not sure where to start looking for things that the editor would have trouble with.

Jan 19, 2010 17:52:59 Mine is having the same problem, i tried to create it again and the program crash when i try to select a power for my summoners tome or a power from my corellon boon, i think the CB have some problem related with powers given by magic items.

Ps: The problem happens only with hybrid characters selecting extra powers from items.

Jan 20, 2010 7:45:55 Ah, the characters in question *did* have items that added powers to the character, and I confirmed (when rebuilding them) that I could add such items just fine, but then the next item I added would cause the character builder to crash. I wonder if that is the problem with my save files.

Jan 27, 2010 18:06:41 I can report a very similar issue with my wife's character. Hybrid Paladin|Barbarian shopping for stuff ... add Gauntlets of Brilliance (which adds the At-Will Light) and crashes the very next thing I try. Save after adding them and get character load failure error messages when trying to open the character. Dunno if it would have worked fine before the update but I did just update before the problem was found ...

Jan 28, 2010 0:47:29 Same here. Made a Paladin | swordmage but crashed when I open up the skills tab to select a skill from a MC. Thankfully I had been saving the summary so when they get this fixed I can import it and continue where I left off. A strange thing is I can't see all my arcane powers, mostly any of them, available for arcane admixture. Power of arcana + virtuous strike should be arcane, shouldn't it?

Here's a summary that will cause CB to get the wrong values for HP, skill boni...

Jan 28, 2010 11:14:12 Yep. Every time I try to add Hedge Wizards Gloves to my Hybrid it crashes. If I save it with them it gives a load failure.
