| #1jsepetaJul 24, 2010 11:38:37 | I've just about finished version 1 of my character sheet for iPad. It's not as functional as character builder, but as it will be used at the gaming table, i'll probably be spending more time in it. It requires Filemaker 2go, but future versions will run stand alone on a Mac or Windows PC. I'm too broke to attend gencon this year (last year ran me around $1000) but would like to share this with a few others to generate suggestions for improvement. I'm not really a programmer so the development path i've chosen doesn't use Xcode and won't be available through the iTunes store. Also I don't want to step on WotC's copyright and trademarks yadda yadda so of course It's free and should Wizards want to collaborate that would be most excellent. I wish I could sync data from character builder to my iPad but since I don't know squat about XML, this product will require manual entry of your character data - which is why having the Mac or PC versions is also handy since they're easier to type on. Filemaker 2go costs $20 for iPhone and $40 for iPad, and the full fm pro for Mac or PC costs $255 or so, but folks won't need fm pro unless they want to modify the base version. I've also been doinking around with Filemaker to create tools for tracking initiative, monster creation, magic items and powers. Nope i'm not replicating all the ddi tools, I just need things I can use during sessions at our local gaming store which doesn't have public wifi. And since i've already had 1 of my wotc's books stolen during an encounters weekend, I no longer bring any books but my iPad. Anyone interested? Contact me here. |
